- I was looking for a stainless steel watch with a large face that would be easy to read. I love the rounded square face and fairly wide band. It's modern and feminine without looking too girly or cutesy. The band was REALLY (it fit my husband!) so be prepared to have it resized.

Maurice Lacroix LC7008-SS001-330 wrist watches news:
Concorso Italiano is a 24 year tradition during the Monterey classic car weekend, which includes the Pebble Beach Concourse, Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca, and several high-profile auto auctions. Held on golf links in the past, the Concorso moved to the Marin City airport last year where the acres of tarmac inspired little love among attendees and participants. For 2009 the Concorso is heading back to the fairways. This year’s event will be held at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch. The Concorso will take place on Friday August 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are available through May 31 for $85 per person. After that, the price increases to $100. Your ticket includes on-site parking. The entry is $125 through May 31 and increases to $175 starting June 1. Entry fees for non-Italian cars are slightly higher. For more information, visit concorso. Stay tuned to for reports from the show.
I've been lurking on this forum for quite a while now. I thought it's about time I joined with the discussions and to contribute something. I am an avid collector of various watches since not too long ago and I just added this one last week:Brand/Model = Longines - ConquestCase Material = 18k solid (pink) gold Movement = manual automatic windingSeries 291, serial#1147xxxx, ca 1959/1960. Band = generic after market leatherIn spite of its old age it gives very accurate time . It fits nicely with my smallish wrist. So far so good, no problem 'yet' ! Here the pix of the actual watch:What do you think ?DISCLAIMER: I used these pictures from the seller's. I tried to take pix myself using my slr but no good. It can't even come close. Trust me the actual watch looks better.
On a general principle, I prefer to buy EVERYTHING from a small mom & pop operation instead of the huge corporation. If I can eat at an owner-operated restaurant over an 'Outback Steakhouse,' well, I'm going to do that every time. If I can buy a shovel from a small owner-operated hardware store, than I will even pay a little more for it than at Home Depot. Why? Because when small business leaves town, we are all in serious trouble. I'm a small business guy myself, and if I were not, my choice would be to work for minimum wage while risking my life. Now, to watches. I know of few real small watch operations. I know there are a few companies like Rolex who remain independent. I salute that. But I no longer care that some person actually touched my watch in the manufacturing process. I accept that everything is automated, and the scale of operation is quite large. I also understand that computer processes and robotic operation is insanely precise - far beyond what a shaky hu
Never seen this variation before.
I have a new Speedy Pro inbound, and wanted to ask you guys with straps if you prefer the standard clasp, or a deployant?Looking at all the pics posted in this forum, it's hard to tell what most of you guys are using. It appears that the deployant would be far easier to get the watch on and off, and cause less wear to the strap. However, I don't know if it is comfortable, secure, etc.Any help would be appreciated, ready to strap it on!Oh, and a HUGE thanks to Fr. John+ and his AD. Quite easily the most pleasurable and hassle-free watch purchase I have ever made.
