Maurice Lacroix Maurice Lacroix 19991 wrist watches news:
I must have been sleeping alot lately, that I missed the 'inaugaral' opening of the Panerai Forum. I thought folks here do not collect or like Panerai. Months ago, I did ask what does the meaning of H, A, C, D etc etc series mean?I emailed Panerai but I heard no reply. I got their catalog 2007 but they didnt explain much. I tried to search about online but also to no avail. I am not sure about the series much. Panerai, whether brand new of 2nd hand, always command an extremely high price, yet often, the new models are sold out even before they reach the stores. From what I know, many gentlemen love their Panerais so much....that they probably will not think twice getting them if they hold well-paying jobs. For some, they will go for the Panerai-lookalikes watches at much lower prices. Sorry for sidetracking, but back to the question what does the alphabets mean? Thanks
I got up early, especially early thanks to Daylight Savings Time, to go to the NAWCC meeting this morning. It was a first time for me so I thought I'd tell you how it went.$22 to get in and there was probably about 40 tables manned by various folks selling their stuff. You meet all kinds of people at these events - many with questionable hygene habits I would venture to guess - but all interested in things that tell time.I picked up immediately that you negotiate with the vendors, maybe not so much as at an Arabian market, but everything is negotiable at a mart. A lot of people buying just gold.My first buy was this Rodney. It has an original dial but it's kind of coated in nicotene or something. It cleaned up pretty well and the case is very nice. A pretty good buy for $70, I think. I'm still not crazy about the dial though.I have a couple of projects that I'm trying to finish and I was looking for movements with good balances. I found a nice 986A and installed it in this YGF
Watch Talk Forum,Maybe you guys can help me solve a watch mystery. Yesterday I bought a circa 1930's Solow step case watch with an A. Shield Swiss Movement. Made by the Solow Watch Company. I have exhausted all major search engines on the net with no luck. I could not find one shred of information! I have attached some pictures. Thanks in advance.Tony

Ok, so they're not really divers. But it does sound kind of cool.
