- I have had this watch for just over two weeks and haven't taken it off yet. Very functional and comfortable for everyday use. The only con is that it has a short watch band, other than that I highly recommend it.

- My daughter loved the watch. Large enough to see without her contacts was a plus, and very stylish. This Christmas gift was a winner and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase jewelry from the O again.

Maurice Lacroix MP6518-SS001-130 wrist watches news:

In honor of our new member, HamiltonElectric, here are some tidbits upon which he may comment. . ."The 500 series watch had a moving coil and contact control system. The coil is fixed on the balance, and an electric current flows in the magnetic field, producing an electromagnetic force. At the moment the magnetic field reached the right and left side of the coil, the contact spring is closed by a small pin on the balance. Thus, electric current through the coil is receive an impulse. . . The basic principle is the same for electric motors."Source: Collecting Watches by Shugart and Hanson
I was hoping someone could help me ID my Vintage Hamilton wristwatch. I opened it up and it is 17J 980 with #'s G395477 on the movement. It is marked 14K goldfilled. I will post pictures. Thanks in advance for any help to Id this watch
I didn't have all that many customers, but that's no surprise in this economy. What few I did have had some nice watches though. One couple had a pair of great pieces - his was a SS JLC Reverso with the skeleton back, and hers was a blingy Piaget. I saw an orange dialed Seiko, and a ladies open heart (shaped like a heart of course) but I didn't catch the brand. I'm used to seeing Tags, Rolexes and a few Omegas so the JLC was a pleasant change of pace. He was a collector as well and we talked about common movements within JLC, Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin while his wife was browsing.
