Maurice Lacroix MI1018-SS002-130 wrist watches news:
Just as an FYI, Hamilton sent out a notice this week that list prices will be going up on February 10th. The increasingly weak dollar is definitely taking its toll in imported watches (and other things, of course). It's not an across the board percentage, but here's a few examples of what to expect:Ventura - now $645, new price $695Ventura chronograph - now $745, new price $795Khaki King Auto, metal band - now $445, new price $525X-WInd, rubber strap - now $995, new price $1395Jazzmaster Viewmatic 40mm, strap - now $545, new price $625So there's no time like the present...
Hello,I just ordered i new "everyday" watch and i wanted a bigger one than the submariner SNA225P1 i have today.I wonder if anyone here have this flightmaster SNAB67P1 and can help me with a picture on the arm to see how big it really is?Thanx! John
I started a thread over in the GF asking folks to rate watch brands.I surprised myself by giving the No. 1 spot to Seiko.I think the fit and finish on high-end pieces is the best in the world. I like that the company controls every part of it's manufacturing process and has an on-going commitment to technological development. What's your take?
I inherited this Junghans from my grandfather, along with some other watches. It's been sitting in a box for a while so I thought I'd pull it out and get some more info on it.I'm not sure of the date of this watch, it looked to be goldfilled, but bezel still had some gold on it. I believe he got this in Germany, he was a US navy Sailor from 1943-1980's. He traveled all over the world and picked up a collection of junk, sometimes picking up watches and stuff. It doesn't run anymore, and honestly I think it's in pitiful condition for a watch of mine.So my question is: Is it worth restoring? Or is it destine to become a parts watch?Oh, and how do I open it?
Hello,I am contemplating my next large purchase by looking at Patek reference # 5119J from the Calatrava series. My question relates to service. I will most likely buy used and wondered what to expect for a typical service from Patek? Also curious if there is a well known option for service outside of Patek that is reasonable and provides excellent quality work. My main reason for the inquiry is I anticipate the piece I purchase to be outside of the warranty window should any issues arise. Any suggestions are appreciated.Thank you!!!
