Underwood Winders...
I don¡¯t post too often in this forum, but I have a question.One of my co-workers is a former WIS. He¡¯s whittled his way down to just one timepiece (nuts, I know).We were outside havin¡¯ a smoke, and I was lamenting my need for a new winder (I have just a single head Lux-Pak that I bought here for ten bucks). I¡¯ve got 13 watches now, most of them autos, and only a single head winder. I¡¯m a watch setting son of a gun sometimes.He offered me a triple-head winder by Underwood for $100.00. Apparently, each head can be removed and run separately on DC power, as well. I¡¯ve looked at the winders on the web and, relying on my in-depth knowledge of winders, opined ¡°Hey, that looks pretty good¡±.Honestly, I wouldn¡¯t know a good winder if it fell on me.I have no aversion to spending the money and, seeing as he used to be a WIS (he used to work at a high-end watch retailer here), my gut tells me he probably wasn¡¯t putting his watches on a piece of garbage. Guys, need your much appreciated help with pics.I am looking into buying a discontinued PO model: seamaster/planet-ocean/29015182. 42mm, orange numbers, black bezel and rubber strap.I have been reading/searching all known forums and I know it comes down to personal preference and I kinda like the 42mm size with the 2500 movement, less thick. A Treasured Patek ¨C Stolen Long Ago ¨C Can Archive Records be Retrieved?
My father-in-law Mike bought a simple manual wind Patek while traveling in Switzerland with his wife in the 1950s. My wife, then of school age, remembers the pride with which her dad displayed his new Patek after his return home. Mike wore that Patek for years and he was still wearing it daily in the early 2000s. I doubt that his Patek was ever serviced. Sadly, Mike¡¯s treasured Patek was stolen in about 2004, a year before Mike¡¯s death. My wife and I were clueless about fine timepieces and we had no idea at the time that the watch may have been registered in the Patek archives.I have only a vague recollection of Mike¡¯s watch but would guess it was a member of the Calatrava 96-series. I wonder if it would be possible to find a record of Mike¡¯s watch in the Patek archives. And, although we would be unable to claim the watch today, it would be interesting to learn if Patek has serviced Mike¡¯s watch in recent years.Can the Patek archives be searched with only the original watch own

Sky Dweller or GMT Master II BLNR
Ok. Here's the thing.I have a DateJust 2 116334 with rhodium arabic dial. I have been thinking of late to exchange this (I can get between ?4k with the dealer (hoping for more as watchfinder offered ?4.7k) and purchase the SkyDweller White Gold (White dial). I would put ?2k down on this watch also, which would mean I would owe ?4k.Now, as of this morning.. things have become a little bit more complex! Ha!I've seen the GMT Master II 116710BLNR - thats ?6550. I could put down ?2k again and owe ?4.5k and thus in turn, have two watches.What are everyones thoughts on my dilema - I really wanted the SD as of this morning! LolThanks
