Hi alli have enjoyed reading your posts and have used the information to purchase my first omega.i have attached some images and hope you enjoy.
Is the vintage watch going the way of the postage stamp?170 years ago the British Royal Mail started distributing the first postage stamps. Quite a few of these stamps achieved values of more than US$ 1.5 millions over time. However, the market for stamps is imploding. The reason being that there are many ageing collectors wanting to dispose of their collections and too few new collectors entering the game. A traditional generational gap. In a not too distant future people will not be collecting stamps anymore¡..What if today¡¯s vintage watch is the postage stamp of the future? What if the age of collecting vintage watches is behind us? Questions that at this moment in time do not have an answer. However these questions are valuable enough to be contemplated in more detail. There are a few factors impacting the vintage watches trade negatively. I'll post when they come in, in a day or two.

Problem is, in Chicago, there's only one place that I know of that has them (Tourneau, sadly) and after reluctantly heading over there today, they didn't have THAT many to look at.Bit of background for me and what I'm looking for. I have small wrists and I wear a Daytona daily right now. I had my eye on the PAM512 from photos but I had no idea how truly small this watch was and when I tried it on, I wasn't really digging it. I see that the 572 seems to be a larger, automatic version of this, but I can't find a lot of photos of the 572, especially on a wrist. One thing I don't like about some Panerai is the very wide and thick watch strap. I'm looking for something decidedly smaller, like you'd find with a white/rose gold Daytona, if that's possible at all.Further, I know my Rolexes inside and out, but aren't as familiar with the classic Panerai's and anything I s
