Finally took the plunge.
$16k is the most I've ever spent on something that wasn't a car. But it was something I've always wanted and treated myself to. It's a Submariner 18K gold and SS with diamonds. It was a choice between that and the Daytona. I just think the black and gold won me over.I love it.

I must say, that I very much liked the looks of the original Beasts and T-Rex. It really does appear as if these watches are assembled and finished nicely. I think everyone would probably agree with that. What I can't understand is, while the watches certainly look top-notch, why would a G10 movement be utilized in these? Is it more of a jewelry piece than watch? It really does look as if no expense was spared with the case and bracelet, but I just can't get over that movement. You'd think with the prices he is charging, he could utilize a higher end quartz for just a little more money on his end.I know no one can really answer this question; I'm just ruminating I guess.

Hi guys,I have really started to take an interest in the Omega Planet Ocean line and I am finding all of the different models a bit confusing to organize in my head. I am sure I could research it, but sometimes it is better to ask the experts:)I am also coming from the Rolex world, where other than the LVc, the SS Submariner (option-wise) is much like the Model T...you can have any color and bracelet option you want as long as it is black on oyster.Here is what I have gathered so far... (Models Currently in Production)1. There are two possible movements: 2500 or 8500, but does the movement determine the bezel material? It seems like 2500 is an aluminum bezel, but 8500 is a ceramic bezel (but not necessarily liquid metal).2. There are two possible sizes: 42mm and 45.5mm, but are both sizes available in both aluminum and ceramic bezel models?3.
