Different fonts in 7S26?
I was comparing my different watches that has this movent, and I realized that there are different fonts in the day/date discs...The 007 has one, the 009 has another, and the Monster has another one, very similar, but not exactly the same...Why is this? different sourcing of the parts? AFAIK and can read in the watches all have Japan movement, and for the K, I guess that all are assembled in SingaporeAny thoughts?

Radium dials and hands -- how long did/do old original 1920's radium wristwatch glow?
I know that radium is radioactive for thousands of years as its half-life is around 1,600 years. I also know that radium is no longer used today, as this process stopped to a great deal by the 1960s. That said, how long should a typical 1920s radium watch dial and hands glow? While I have found no definitive answer, it seems questionable whether most "original" 1920s dials should still be glowing today, because the radium-226 (or 228) mixed with the zinc sulfide (salts) to display this glow should likely have all burned away to be point of being undiscernable by the human eye. Perhaps the sources I have read are simply incorrect or not specific enough?I own dozens of what I consider to be original radium dials, and while they are indeed radioactive, I am unable to see any glow, even in the middle of night. (Again, I am not talking about moderm luminous paints that glow for a few minutes after exposure to light, OR about modern glass-tubed tritium watches.) However, others whose

Hmmm, I spent a big chunk of Saturday cruising ADs: Breitlings, Corums, IWC, Bedat, Omega, Rolex, Chopard and on and on. Then I watched the watch shows on that TV channel.My conclusion: there's no watch that really floats my boat. Nothing I actually want to acquire. I tried on the new IWC DaVinci and several other pieces I thought I wanted. I came away impressed, but unenthusiastic. Perhaps I have reached my saturation point - where all watches start looking like each other, blending together in one horological blur.It's odd not to have a Watch Want List.My passion for horology isn't waning, but I suspect it is morphing.
