Maurice Lacroix PT6008-SS002-331 wrist watches news:
Baume & Mercier, which began a partnership with Carroll Shelby, Inc. in 2015, expands its collection of limited-edition chronograph watches inspired by the famed Shelby Cobra race cars this year. The newest models, introduced at SIHH 2016, take their distinctive design codes from the Shelby Cobra CSX2128, the 289-series roadster that won the 12 Hours of Sebring race in 1963 to become one of the most successful Cobras in history. The Baume & Mercier Capeland Shelby Cobra 1963 Limited Edition comes in two versions, each with a 44-mm-diameter case. One is in stainless steel with satin-brushed and polished finishing, attached to a black alligator strap with white contrast stitching and yellow, rubberized calfskin lining (pictured at top); the other “Competition” edition (below) has black ADLC coating on the steel case and comes on a strap made of black, vulcanized? rubber, the same material used in the wheels of a Cobra race car.Other design features inspired by the Shel
Put it another way, do you tend to wear watches of approximately the same size or take in a variety of dimensions?I thought about this aspect of size last week. Our amigo Gee Jaay was saying that he had a preference for smaller sizes, the Speedy Pro probably being his upper limit. Gee Jaay finds 34 to 36mm as being eminently wearable finding solace in his Connie Anciens ;) and predicting a fashionable return to smaller dials.
I wish I had pics. Maybe tomorrow. I'm looking at a stainless steel, 3 piece case (vintage military style), Omega. This is not a Seamster. It has a 330 movement. It is 36mm. Anyone ever seen anything like it?ThanksJustin
I bought a Tag Heur watch 3 weeks back and somehow managed to inflict a fine hairline scratch on the side of the case while I was polishing it with a piece of tissue. I would have thought stainless steel would be more resistant than tissue paper but apparently that was not the case here.Anyway! The scratch is particularly glaring because the steel casing is a polished surface rather than a brushed one. Were I to bring the watch to the Tag repair centre, would they be able to conjure magic to erase the scratch or would they (god forbid) need to change the whole casing? This watch also happens to be one of those gimmicky limited edition ones, so in the extremely unfortunate event that a case replacement is necessary, I'm not sure if finding spare parts for it would be a problem.
After buying new.. anyone know the percentage of devaluation that has Panerai and Rolex? Of course the watches have been maintained and that they are flawless.
