Maurice Lacroix FA2164-SD531-311 wrist watches news:
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jeff Stein and his OnTheDash is something really special in the vintage Heuer community. It is, without a doubt, the thought-leader in the space, full of honest (rare in the watch world) assessments and analysis of the ever growing culture of vintage Heuer chronographs. Today, Mr. Stein has published a fascinating look at the Autavia, in all its incarnations, with glances at differentiating specific models, which are most collectible and why, famous wearers of the Autavia, and pricing trends. Even if you have just a passing interest in the original Heuer racer's watch, this is worth a read.Check out Jeff Stein's collector's guide to the Heuer Autavia here.
Gents, I think I am getting the itch for a new daily driver. My Breitling Steelfish does "9 to 5" duty right now. It's a good piece. I like the size and heft, strong lume, seemingly strong metallurgy (it's got very few dings even after 3 years of hard wear ), a world-beater bracelet, and just enough swag factor. I work in a high-end sales environment and a good watch is, for better or worse, part of the uniform. It's recognizable enough to pass muster with my clients, but it's also *not a Rolex*. Note- I respect Rolex but an honest 40-50% of the guys in my line of work seem to wear a Sub or GMTII or whatever. Anyhow...My problem is that the styling on this watch is getting a bit dated, IMO. The huge bezel seems to crowd out the dial. The bezel itself is also very busy/bumpy/crowded, although the rotation action is great, as is the domed crystal. For a new daily-use watch, I would like something in the 42-45mm range, on a very good bracelet. I *think* I prefer a basic diver's style form
What's the best non-Rolex Rolex? I just don't feel like spending $$$$$ on a real Rolex, but always wanted one. I was told that there are a couple of Great copies out there, anyone with any experiences? No flames please, and let me just say I always say if you can't afford the real thing you shouldn¡¯t get a copy, however, for some reason, this situation does not bother me.
Hello all, I'm not at all watch expert, but I've been looking for two watches for a few days now and am just overwhelmed with the number of options and just as importantly the number of "replica" sites there are. I'm hoping you can help me cut through the confusion and point me at some great watches.I'm looking for wrist watches, a daily wearer and a dress watch. My budget is up to around $3000.00 USD each.Critera:I'm looking for a skeleton watch and wouldn't mind if it had a tourbillon or even a minute repeater. I would like a second hand. I'm an engineer so I love to see the movements. I'm not too picky on the metals or bands, but I usually don't like gold and go for stainless/silver/black colors. It doesn't need to be a new watch, a functional and reliable vintage watch would be fine. Thanks in advance for your help!Atlas
Hi allI'm looking to place an order for the new Blue dial 15450 but I don't have any AP relationships so don't fancy my chances of being very successful. I've put my name down with one AD but they wouldn't take a deposit which strengthens my view that I am going to get shunted down the list as they prioritise the customers they know.Anyone on here able (and willing) to help?Cheers, Vince
