Maurice Lacroix LC1026-SD502-170 wrist watches news:
From time-to-time we come across art inspired by, or placed directly inside of, a watch or clock. An watches-dealer reader was nice enough to share with us the work of UK-born and -based Dominic Wilcox, who, among other things, has made wrist and pocket watch dials a palette for artistic expression.Wilcox calls these creations "Watch Sculptures" and they start with vintage wrist and pocket watches that he has acquired. The first step is removing the crystal and replacing them with a tall dome to make room for the small sculptures and figurines that he creates. Wilcox claims to be inspired by both real and imagined situations, and uses the motion of the watch hands as part of the art. The figurines are literally placed on the watch hands.Speaking strictly from a technical standpoint we would not recommend that anyone do this with a watch they wanted to keep good time. While the hands may move with the additional weight, there is no chance that the extra pressure on the movement would al
14K GOLD MANUAL WIND UP OMEGA WITH DIAMONDS. KEEPS PERFECT TIME.HERES A COUPLE OF IMAGES. I WOULD APPRECIATE IF ANYONE KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
I've just come across a Hamilton watch which my partner bought for me on my 50th, some 6 years ago (I must have put it a box marked 'for future reference!). It is a 'cut corners' type 987-F, 14k white gold infill (I believe), with a pattern on the two sides and the front face. Would appreciate any info on this watch as I'm thinking of having it serviced and wearing it on a daily (?) basis. It's in good condition and seems to keep good time.Regards, ptw
I have a buddy visiting Houston from Australia. He is thinking of picking up a SMP on his visit. Any recommendations on an AD willing to make a good deal? Any second-hand recommendations?
I inherited a certain omega from my grandfather and I have no clue if it's a valuable timepiece or not.. Then i found out that Omega came out with the same exact watch as I have in their museum piece collection REFERENCE 5704.60.02. The only difference is that the original one is yellow gold, if anyone has a clue on how much the ORIGINAL one costs or just a clue of its value please let me know!! I just figured that if omega came out with the same one for its museum collection then it must be kinda precious right??
