Wow. Just check this out - the RSW Moonflower for Women.Powerful imagery to say the least. I love that this is a brand that is taking definite risks with a design like this - which has earned my respect, and I'm sure the respect of many more.Rama Swiss Watch, the geniuses behind the Moonflower, has grown out of need for truly unique, avant-garde pieces. Giving the manufacturing expertise of the founders, their success is sure to be guaranteed. Compare this with the fashion-forward designs and distributions, the RSW Moonflower stands alone. So, let's take the obvious. Moon. Flower. Can you see them both? Together? Not at firstbut, like those allusions, this watch offers so much more. And it's not a traditional look at all - period. For women's watches - this is a whole different game. It's definitely kind of ugly. The bumpy facade of the titanium dial is a little off-putting at first. It's a stretch for a moon - and a stretch for a flowerBut then - you gaze into the open face An
A topic of another thread digressed a bit but the topic was, I believe, worthy of its' own thread. The question I pose is this: What is your opinion of the Chinese calibers ( primarily Seagull), Japanese calibers ( primarily Miyota) and Swiss calibers (primarily the ETA series). I copied my post below to start the ball rolling.Miyotas have a good track record although the slower beat makes for a slightly "jerky" second hand and they do not hacka nice feature if one is setting one's watch to the atomic clock. The Chinese calibers seem to have a reputation as being a knock off with problemssome may be ok but they do not seem to "wow" the WIS crowd. Then there is the connection between fake watches and Chinese movements. True there are fake watches out there with ETA calibers but most of the fakes have Chinese movements. Lastly, with Miyota and ETA there is probably no sweatshop factory atmosphere which is probably doubtful with the Chinese calibers/chinese watches.Let it rip.
Anyone on the forum own a Patek 6002g? Or anyone has live pictures? Never seen one in flesh... some pictures would be great
Ok, so after much thought and deliberation. Much see-saw. many mind change. (many thanks to Takuya for dealing with my flip flopping and also to HL65 and Tom for their input)My first Patek is on its way and will arrive tomorrow. I pulled the trigger on a BNIB 5726/1a from trusted seller, great guy and friend Takuya aka Thanh Do. If you are looking to buy a watch you would be crazy not to check with him I will post pics tomorrow upon arrival. Some of you may know I was all over the place with watches. I was looking at 5164,5712,5780,AP Diver,Platona, etc etc. Finally I decided on these four watches for now:BLNR (classic rolex GMT beater), 5726/1a (iconic nautilus Patek annual calendar on bracelet), AP RG ROO Ceramic (precious metal, only RG I like, chrono, black watch) and the AP Jumbo 15202 (iconic RO time/date only with amazing RO bracelet and awesome movement and tapisserie dial). That 4some covers all the bases i wanted to hit after considering a hundred different combinations. The 5t
