A newb attempts to open/fix a Dollar ($) Progress Pocket Watch - fumbling ensues
Hi WTFers, I have stalked internet sites, bought beginners' tools, and acquired a spread of dollar watches over the last few weeks. Now I begin my new hobby - learning how they work & trying to 'service' them. The following is my documentation and photos from the first attempt - a cheap, non-running Progress Dollar Watch. This is a lengthy post....so Moderators, if this post is too long, too picture-happy, or unsuitable for these forums please edit or tell me as you see fit!1. I created a basic information template so that I could organize the information on each watch as well as what the heck I was doing to service it. Hi allTried this on today and am very impressed. The dial is unbelievable - photos don't do it justice. I just loved everything about it, 37mm size, date, polished/brushed steel case and a very nice bracelet with solid deployment clasp. Well things are slow this week at the office so I found it the perfect excuse to grab a flight to Vegas.Time to try every watch on my wish list, and Vegas is the best place to do that. Decided to take 44mm with me, as it's the perfect travel companion.Will update as we go. Could get interesting....
