Would paying with cash get me a lower price at the AD?
Last time i visited the AD in Florida, they were very nice and offered me 18% off retail price because I was so young and hoped to keep me as a customer for life (this tactic would indeed work as I tend to stay loyal to stores/salespeople who treat me well). My question is to whether you feel the dealer would accept an offer from me if I told them to kick my discount up to 22% at which point I would give them the money in its entirety via cash in my pocket. My dad swears by this tactic with everything he buys, although he has never used it to buy a watch. He tells me this works in two ways: 1. My other method of payment would be credit card, and the dealer has to pay somewhere between a 4-5% service charge to the credit card company, thus cash would solve that problem. 2. People have a harder time turning down a reasonable offer when they know or see that the actual money is right there in front of them ready to be exchanged. Reputable online vintage watch dealer?
I've been to some of the sponsors' websites, and found some interesting stuff. I'm looking for something pretty specific, though, and am wondering if there's a list of the sponsors that deal in vintage watches. Actually, I don't recall if any of the sites where I saw vintage watches were sponsors or not...I'm looking for an inexpensive (under $400?) vintage watch, probably self wind, probably with no date, probably leather band. I know that's a lot of probably. It will see occasional use as a dress watch, which is why I'm thinking manual wind with no date. That way I can just wind it when I want to wear it, set the time, and go, without worrying about a.m. or p.m. or a date. Besides, I usually know what day it is, and whether it is a.m. or p.m.There is one watch I'd consider going out of my budget and description for, but I can only say that it's a watch I saw when I was about 19 years old (I'm 46 now, so it obviously made an impression.) Regulation only?
Just got my speedmaster pro with cal 861 back from service done at an AD. After a couple of weeks the movement started to lose time, when I got it back from service it was gaining 2-3 sec/24h no matter of posistion. Now it¡äs losing time when at wrist, from 5-15 sec/.24h. Returned it to my AD and he told me after some measurements that it was running slow, but aplitude was just fine. After some regulation i was promised an accurate speedmaster. However, it¡äs still losing time! I made some measurements of my own and dial up is -6 sec/24h, dial down +4 sec/24h and crown up -4 sec/24h. All measurenets with fully wound mainspring. So, my question. Is this norma deviation after a complete service?

Controversial Question: Is it time for TRF to limit Trusted Seller Prices??
We have all seen the recent shortages on many of the popular Rolex range..and let’s be honest, there are only the Grey Market Sellers benefitting from this. As TRF is a highly reputable forum with Hundreds of thousand of active users, do you think it’s time for the TRF moderators to make a RULE & restrict sales on current models to MRSP??As an example, on many sites when selling tickets for concerts, sporting events, sales are only allowed at ‘Face Value’ to halt Ticket Touts.In reality, what is the difference between a ticket tout buying all the tickets for a concert on the day of release (and everyone seems to dislike a ticket tout) and a gray watch dealer buying all the stock from AD’s and marking it up for silly prices??Think hard about my comparison and then reply. Vintage models & discontinued models then of course it’s fair game, I’m talking solely about current inventory.
