Breaking a resolution: The restoration of a Seamaster
A while back, I picked up a 1970 Seamaster Chronometer ref. 168.034. My New Years resolution was to send it to Bienne for restoration.But, on another forum, I found a guy that does it in 1/9th the time and for half the price.Yeah, I jumped and broke that resolution. Before:After:Modern Omega 20mm buckle, though.On the wrist. Not the best shot.Overall, quite satisfied with the job done. If it's allowed, I will post the name and email of the watchmaker. If not, PM me and I'll tell you.

Did the Elgin Horizon Looks have names?
I recently came into this '59 Lord Elgin and I'm quite taken with it of course, I'll be more taken with it once it comes back from the watch doctor!I know that one of the Horizon Looks with the Mystery Dial was named the "Futur". Did any of the other examples receive a name?Thanks,Bob

An Alpha PO??
So i was browsing in the Omega form some of the pics that a member posted of his dive watches last year and amoung them was a green Alpha which looked similiar to the Rollie Sub. Thought it looked nice so I went searching and came across this watch. I am wearing my PO today and I don't have this exact model pictured below but the bracelet dial and face seem to be very similiar. In your opinion where should companies draw the line between an Omage to another watch? If they did not use Orange or White for the 12,9,6 maybe I would not have a problem with it but even the font seems similiar. Also do any another any other members here have a watch from this company? It looks like the watches all have 21 jewel movements.[/IMG]

"Pictures Owed" payoff - RG Hamilton Jazzmaster
OK, back in May I bought a rose gold Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic. Love the watch, but since I don't have too many occasions in the summer to wear a 'dressy' watch and I wasn't too fond of the stock strap and wanted to order a different one, pictures took a bit longer than usual. But, that's been rectified!The stock Hamilton strap is actually very well made, and a great chocolate brown color. However, I'm puzzled by the fact it's a non-tapered 20/20mm strap. THis type of strap is more suited for a sport watch, not such a dressy looking watch such as this. Plus since some of the time I'll wear this in black-tie environments, I'd wanted a black strap, so I ended up picking up a nice black crocodile strap in a 20/18mm size.. I will eventually pick up a new brown one too though, but for now we'll go with black. Since the new strap has your more traditional taper to 18mm, and the fact I prefer a deployant strap to a tang, I'd also picked up a rose gold deployant to fit on the strap.

Panerai Straps - Looking for info
Hi all, I have recently purchased my first Panerai to add to my collection. I was lucky enough to have a few straps included in the sale. As like many buying a new watch for the first time and not having much experience with the brand, we take to the internet to try and get more information about the watches we buy. I was recently looking to get more information on the straps and the authenticity of them, as from reading on the internet there are a lot of fakes on the market and many of the original straps differ slightly. (made in Italy / Austria ) etc. I was wondering if anyone in the forum had some good guidance on the straps and what marking to look for. I have attached some pics of a strap that came with my watch. This is the one I'm struggling to get info on so I can check its genuine. Thanks
