Hey guys!I'm new to this forum. So here's my story...and some concern...I bought a watch at a non-Rolex dealer the other day. The company has been in town since 1978...they had a lot of Rolexes and seem like a respectable place. I purchased an Explorer II with the Oyster band. The timepiece portion of the watch is from the late 90s' and according to a serial on the bracelet, the bracelet is from 2005. When I purchased it, they had no box or papers, but appraised it and gave me a 1-year full warranty which said "100% Genuine Rolex"...along with some other wording. I'm mainly concerned because of no sticker on the back. The movement seems to sweep like a real one is supposed to (but I've seen fakes do similar). If you look really close, the sweeping is almost like a really fast ticking. If i listen to it VERY quietly and closely, I can hear it ticking very fast. SMP non-xo-axial, or new Bond?
What would you do?From my local AD I can get an SMP old stock non-co-axial for $1,600 CDN (discounted off the $2,300 retail); or the new co-axial Bond for $2,900 or so.For overall look and lume, I prefer the SMP, with the sword hands and bar indices. However, the round indices and skeleton Bond hands are growing on me.The movement is what is troubling me mostly. Is the co-axial worth the money effectively?I already have a 2-year old PO black 45 mm, which I bought off a buddy, so I already have the co-axial.I know I can count on you guys for some sage advice. Or if not sage, something entertaining!

Fellow PP Fanatics,I have been an avid watch collector for awhile. My grail watch had always been a Rolex President which I eventually attained. After a few years, my grail became a gold Daytona. Which is pictured. Well, now I've decided that I have to have a Patek. My new grail is the 5712/1a. I am obsessed! My question is should I use my Daytona as a trade in? I have the funds w/o trading in the Rolex but I feel that once I'm a member of the PP cult that I won't wear the Rolex. BTW, the Daytona is a Zenith movement.
