Curious to know...
Just a simple question, I thought before that you can't open the watch by yourself or else it will break its water resistance or its seal and dust will get in and will damage the watch in the long run. I noticed from the threads that it seems that opening the watch and looking at the movements looks easy, which I may be wrong but just wanted to throw this curiousity.Can you just open your watch like that or you need to get some training and credentials to do this?I am just so overwhelmed with this watch thing and this is a beautiful and amazing field.R

Used Omega 3570.50 - where to shop (delivery to UK)
Hi everyone, This is the time I decided to buy my first real watch and I am very nervous about it.After hours of surfing through the internet I decided that my watch of choice will be Omega Speedmaster Professional 3570.50. So the most classic of moonwatches. Due to limited budget, I can only afford a second-hand piece. So this is my question to all of you Omega lovers. The only reliable site I found for second-hand watches is Chrono24. Also there were few on ebay but I am afraid of custom fees when they are shipped to UK from Japan or US. Are there maybe any Omega second-hand stores in London? (I didn't find any particular when searching for them online).My budget is generally around up to ¡ê2,200 ($3,250) and I am looking for something younger than 2006 as they are usually in the condition I like. Also I would really like it with the original box and papers/cards. Thank you for your help,Matt

Found your forum, and hope some folks can point me in the right direction. I hope these pics go through without any issues. This is all I know;This Seamaster 300 belonged to my dad, and I inherited it last year. According to him, he shared a story of wearing this watch (around 1969-72, not sure) in a sauna, and melting the rubber/waterproof gasket. Not sure about that, but there is certainly black gunk around the outside edge of the bezel. The band is broken, but if you unscrew the winder (probably calling that the wrong name), and advance clockwise, it does run. My questions/comments are; 1. Is there a way to identify the date of this watch without opening? 2. My dad did some scuba diving in Okinawa around 70-72, so I assume it was purchased sometime between 60-75, but not sure. 3. On line this looks to be semi valuable. Can this be re-conditioned at a reasonable price? The crystal is badly scratched, the band broken, and there's black gunk around the bezel. But it does work.Any direc
