Casio, which launched its first Casio G-Shock watch with Bluetooth technology in 2011, introduced the latest generation in its series of smartphone-compatible watches at last week’s 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The Casio STB-1000 uses Bluetooth v4.0, with low-energy wireless technology, to enable wearers to check personal fitness data from popular mobile apps, operate a music player on a smartphone, and more. With the new STB-1000, Casio extends its iPhone compatibility, enabled through Bluetooth v4.0, to the sports-watch category. My SMP 300M Chrono is acting funny...1) was one hour late a month ago (just the hour, the minute hand was good)2) the date was 4 days ahead two weeks ago 3) was one hour late a week ago (just the hour, the minute hand was good)I took it to Omega Boutique in Bev. Hills and they said the watch is running good.Your thoughts?
Okay, watches are a touchy subject with me right now. :mad:I've just got back from my Tag Heuer AD. Some of you with very long memories may remember I sent it in for a full service in MARCH.it was due back in mid-April (4-6 weeks, fair enough). I waited until June, heard nothing, so paid them a visit (luckily they're only 5 mins walk from where I walk).Apparently they are having problems replacing the crystal (mineral) since the watch is out of stock etc. Not once did they bother to contact me to update me on what was going on which annoyed the heck out of me.Anyway, I remembered that the exact same watch is still currently available as an Auricoste watch - same case, same CRYSTAL, same ETA2824-2 movement, same bracelet, same dial, except for the Tag Heuer logo. You can't get closer than that.I found the contact details for Auricoste in France, and emailed them to the AD. TWICE. Still no reply, so I went into the store, got another email address and emailed it again from home. Still no
Time for a candid confession: I never wear a watch at the beach. I'm terrified of gritty sand getting under the bezel etc.Silly, but true.
I've had this one for a few days now, and rather liking it. It's a little bit beat up, but I just couldn't resist the red-tipped second hand, and those numerals . It keeps pretty good time, winds properly and the date changes, but I'll still be taking it somewhere for a service soon. Might treat it to a nicer strap as well. Not sure what, yet, though.
