Omega 123.50.31.20.05.001 wrist watches news:
Column-wheel chronographs are those found in many of the best chronograph movements.Set in a steel case, the Ref. L2.733.4.72.2 Longines Column-Wheel Chronograph is extremely classic in its execution and design. The case is 39mm wide in steel, with a brown alligator strap. The exclusive movement inside of the watch is the mechanical caliber L688.2 which provides the tricompax chrono subdial layout. The dial design is extremely classic.
Where do you guys/gals stand? If you had the choice between a "top-of-the-line" model of a less-prestigious, but decent watchmaker (let's say Tissot), or a "lower-end" model of a more-prestigious brand (let's say Longines), which would you choose? Let's say all things are relatively equalfor example they have similar movements, ages, and you like both designs equally: Which way to go?I am in that buying range where this question arises often for me (the sort of $500-$1000 range), and just wonder how others think about this. Cheers
Realise that my 5711 (white) is not the most loved in my collection as I have been considering various trades. None have come live as realise it's rather special after all and it gets a fair share of wrist time and trading a patek for a diffrent brand feels wrong. But having a 5712 as well I would something a bit diffrent. I have the opportunity to trade against a 5711r but need to add aprox usd 8000 in between. Advise please ...Many thanks in advance and happy holidays
So about 6 weeks into ownership of my first new ad purchased sub c, I noticed that the pip (bezel lume dot) has a crack?!?! This watch isnĄŻt babied but I do work in an office and so itĄŻs not seen any abuse at all. Sent to RSC Dallas this week so IĄŻll report back with findings. I wouldnĄŻt have sent it but was sending another watch for service anyway so decided to see what happens. Anyone else had this happen???
My dad is 71 and has a very slow growth cancer. I would love to gift him a Rolex for him to enjoy his last few years. My dad hasn't really been into watches or much of anything as he usually just sacrificed for his family and put his desires aside. It would be a stretch to make this gift possible financially but certainly doable. My question is what to do for my mom? Is it necessary to provide a gift of similar value for her. Do you think she would be offended if I gave a gift of significant value to him and not her. I'm not sure I can swing two gifts in this price range. I would love to hear from others that have wrestled with this dilemma and how it turned out.
