While in Vegas I went watch shopping (research) for my next piece, particularly a 5146P, no luck. I did come across a 5140G, naked. When I asked the salesclerk the year of production I was met with a blank stare, a quick check of the price tag was no help. Fortunately the PP boutique rep was available and quite helpful, 2009. They had the winding box but were unsure of other papers, display box, and original accompaniments. Too what extent do the accessories effect the value of a PP? Not sure I could buy a pre-owned PP without the total package. I interpet this as a watch that may not have been appreciated or cared for in away deserving of such a work of art.

Horology 101 - jewels (pt 2)
The most frequently used type of jewel in a watch is a hole jewel. These are doughnut shaped to fit over the ends of the wheel arbors (gear axels) and are designed so they draw lubricant in towards they arbor where it's needed. Cap jewels are the 2nd most common jewel and look like frisbees. They cover the ends of the arbor and it's corresponding hole jewel. Pallet jewels have a trapezoidal brick form and are located at the end of the pallet that engages the escape wheel.
