Omega 12325276058001 wrist watches news:
For Only Watch 2011, Bell & Ross has created the BR01 Casino. The dial is made up of three rotating concentric circles in pink gold. And yes, it does tell the time. Have you worked out how? We’ll tell you inside. The 46mm diameter case is pink gold and PVD, and the roulette-themed display is powered by an automatic ETA 2892-based movement. So what time is it? 10:10 of course. The black-on-white “0” on the outer ring represents the hours, and the small white roulette ball on the center ring denotes the minutes. The central disk bearing the spinner makes one revolution per minute and so represents the seconds. The “wish price” on this piece is 20,000 to 40,000 euros, and should you be the lucky bidder, your unique Casino will be delivered in a fitted box with certificate. The Only Watch 2011 charity auction will take place on September 23 at the Monaco Yacht Show. Forty of the world’s leading luxury wristwatch manufacturers are donating unique and on
It's sort of a general rule of thumb that mechanical complications increase the price of a watch. If you look at a brand's catalog, their chronographs, GMTs, perpetual calendars, etc¡ (should they have them in the first place) cost more than simpler 3-hand models, and understandably so. As the name implies, complications increase the complexity of the movement, which, generally speaking, increases the amount of parts, labor and skill required to make the movement and thusly increases the cost. So, when you're perusing the internet or a local shop and you come across an automatic GMT with a power reserve and decentralized date by a reputable brand, you're likely looking at something that costs at least $1,000, more likely much more. Well, Orient once again defies pricing logic with their CDH00001B ¨C Explorer, which costs $650 MSRP, or $455 with an Orient 30% discount code (try fall2012).So, what is the Orient Explorer? Well, on paper it's basically everything you'd want in a traveler's
While in Vegas I went watch shopping (research) for my next piece, particularly a 5146P, no luck. I did come across a 5140G, naked. When I asked the salesclerk the year of production I was met with a blank stare, a quick check of the price tag was no help. Fortunately the PP boutique rep was available and quite helpful, 2009. They had the winding box but were unsure of other papers, display box, and original accompaniments. Too what extent do the accessories effect the value of a PP? Not sure I could buy a pre-owned PP without the total package. I interpet this as a watch that may not have been appreciated or cared for in away deserving of such a work of art.
The most frequently used type of jewel in a watch is a hole jewel. These are doughnut shaped to fit over the ends of the wheel arbors (gear axels) and are designed so they draw lubricant in towards they arbor where it's needed. Cap jewels are the 2nd most common jewel and look like frisbees. They cover the ends of the arbor and it's corresponding hole jewel. Pallet jewels have a trapezoidal brick form and are located at the end of the pallet that engages the escape wheel. On the opposite end, where the pallet fork contacts the balance arbor, is the roller jewel which looks like a half a can of cranberry sauce sliced top to bottom...hole jewel ...cap jewel ......pallet jewel...........roller jewel............image from elginwatches.org
