Perrelet A4023-1 wrist watches news:
This nice 14K Hamilton Thin-O-Matic was just dropped off at my office only a few minutes ago. Sorry for the off white balance pictures. I was using my friend's camera and could not hit the WB settings to save my life ;)The watch is actually in a better shape than these pictures show. I am very happy to add this piece into my 'birth year 1965 collection' that now includes Omega Speedie, Breitling Navitimer & Bulova.I think that after good service and new alligator this one will be in a tip-top shape !The first Hamilton I found has an engraving of an exact birthday of my father !! What a luck !
Anyone have an idea of the time period of these Gemex link bracelets? It is a 16mm. I got it on a 30's model Hamilton but, I am not sure if it was from that era or, a later addition?
The Illinois Square is a fairly basic watch with a 6/0 movement, and one of the first advertised by Illinois as early as 1925. What makes this one a bit unusual is that it is a solid 14K example. It's the only one I've ever seen, and Fred does not list them as being made in solid gold. Another nice feature about this one, amazingly, is the original NOS dial. This is obvious by the brushed butler center and the circularly-brushed sub-circleplus the back shows no marks of havig been re-done. My gut feeling is that there must have been some time early-on, not long after the problems of radium surfaced, that the dials were made with the same green numbers so common during the radium days, but with no radioactive materials at alland this is one of those dials, and it explains why is did not "burn" into a green-brown over time. (Modern luminous is only mildly radioactive, but the old radium was much more so.) You will occasionally also see Canby cases with similarly perfect NOS dial
Guys,Looking through my instagram timeline today i noticed that schofield have started using Soprod Movements. I started keeping my eye on this company a few years back being very new and love the style and look of them apart from the size. I read an article about the over all style and how much thought went into the smallest detail in order to grow in such a busy market with so many new brands trying to design a noticeable and recognisable watch. Plus its a nice touch being and English company apart from having a swiss movement and being made in germany lol. Mungrel. I was sure at the beginning they were using Unitas movements but i have never heard of Soprod. Can anyone give me any info. Are they good proven movements? What other Brands use them? Apologies if this has been covered i did search for this but didn't see too much worth reading.IMG_6365.jpgSchofield-Signalman-Polished-Steel-In-Hand-800x889.jpgSchofield-Signalman-Polished-Steel-In-Hand-800x889.jpg
Hello Guys I am considering getting my wife a RO too. She loves wearing my 15400, but it's a bit on the large size for her (not that it prevents her from using it). Since there are no ADs anywhere close to where we live and I would rather make a surprise, I was wondering if anyone could share pictures of the 39mm 15300 of the 37mm 15450 in a 15,5cm / 6,2 inch wrist. Thank you Andr¨¦
