Omega Omega 16945 wrist watches news:
Hi There -Some time ago, one of you was kind enough to attempt to help me ID the pictured watch. It was my Mom's. I could never get the back off (was afraid to break it) so took it to a gentleman at a clock/watch shop today who removed the back for me. He didn't see a SN but the works were marked Hamilton, Caliber 757 and 22 Jewels. The double clasp is marked 14k and the watch weighs aprox. 17 g (my digital kitchen scale). There is no H on the crown.I have tried to find this watch so many times, checking e-bay, ruby lane, etc. and have never found this exact design. I looked through the reference materials here and it seems like all the ladies high end watches from this period were only 17 jewel (this one is marked 22).Can anyone help me with an ID? I'm guessing early/mid 1940s, but the guy told me it could be from the late 30s, as well. He also mentioned that it looked brand new :) I don't know how relevant it is, but my family was from chicago.hamilton01.jpg
Hi allWell, I've been bitten by the bug and decided to get a project, so that well known auction site had another visit. First of all I must apologise to the person who I outbid by 50 pence It's a Junghans with a J58 movement, not working, but I have a person who will sort that out for me. The rest is cosmetic, but for some reason, I love it. I usually go for divers, but this grabbed my attention. Now for the request. Is there any way of finding out what year it is from. Information seems thin on the ground for Junghans unless its a modern one. Thanks in advanceAndy
I didn't have all that many customers, but that's no surprise in this economy. What few I did have had some nice watches though. One couple had a pair of great pieces - his was a SS JLC Reverso with the skeleton back, and hers was a blingy Piaget. I saw an orange dialed Seiko, and a ladies open heart (shaped like a heart of course) but I didn't catch the brand. I'm used to seeing Tags, Rolexes and a few Omegas so the JLC was a pleasant change of pace. He was a collector as well and we talked about common movements within JLC, Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin while his wife was browsing.

Having lusted after one of these watches for as long as I remember , i finally had the money to be able to buy one and started searching for a two tone sub around Christmas.Forward two months of wait list and I had several AD's call me with stock , great !Went to view the first one and found the rehaut misalignment issue pictured here ( bad lighting but look at how the indcie is near enough under the backbone of the E ) :So left in favor of taking a look at some others , if this was going to be the norm i would think about living with it, the AD said Rolex told them this was within their specifications but most pictures i looked at online didn't have this issue. I had pictures sent from the AD's of 4 more watches most similar , some worse some marginally better , One looked great ! , So off I went on a few hours trip to view this watch with high hopes. Alignment was spot on but straight away when looking in hand I noticed a small mark on the 12 triangle border. Now this mark was only
