Omega 4575.75 wrist watches news:
Contributed by ?lker ?zcan, who is a professional Materials Engineer and owns a small R&D company (ndsgnwatches-dealer).In this article on watch case materials, we have decided to write about ceramics. Ceramics are possibly the least understood of the materials used in watches. Many watchmakers are nowadays using ceramics for their watch cases ¨C which gained popularity with Rado. Now Chanel, Hublot, Omega, IWC, and many others produce watches with ceramic cases in full or in part.Materials are generally classified as Metals, Polymers, Ceramics, and Composites. Sometimes foams, etcare added but these four classes are universally accepted. So ceramics are one of the three main classes, where composites are mixtures of these three.Ceramics are essentially inorganic solids (organic ones are polymers) that are also not metals. So in addition to what is usually thought as ¡°ceramics¡±, glass, diamond and graphite are classified as ceramics. The sapphire used as watch crystals is also a cer

SAVE | EMAIL | PRINT | MOST POPULAR | RSS | REPRINTS COVER STORY With its Quai de l'Ile, Vacheron Constantin portends the watchmaking of tomorrow June 24, 2008 By Pierre Maillard In the chorus of the great brands active in the haute horlogerie sector, Vacheron Constantin has long been the guardian of the temple of tradition. Its image has certainly been irreproachable, even if the brand was considered somewhat old-fashioned, viewed perhaps like a very respectable grand dame (the company was founded in 1755) who was a little out of touch.Gradually, however, its image has been changing. The inauguration in 2004 of the new manufacturing facility in Plan-les-Ouates, near Geneva, whose daring ultra-modern architecture is quite impressive, rapidly contributed to the repositioning of the brand. On a more inconspicuous level, the Vacheron Constantin ateliers in the Vall¨¦e de Joux have risen in strength and stature, becoming veritable lab-oratories for the research and development of movements
I finally got a few hours to spend attempting to reassemble Grandpa's Hamilton Lester. When I was disassembling it I somehow managed to bend the second hand pinion on the fourth wheel (I think those are the correct terms.) I probably set the movement down on the bench, forgetting about the pinion sticking out.I tried straightening it then, and thought I did a pretty good job. But when I tried to put the bridge back on today, it was clear it wasn't right. I tried adjusting again and *snap*! Luckily, there are lots of 982's floating around on the 'Bay, so finding a parts donor won't be too hard.Mistakes are how you learn. Provided you don't make the same mistake again!
