New Member / Advice wanted please
Hi,I'm new here and mainly signed up for some advice ;) hopefully that's not considered too impolite...I recently came across an old (1970's) Gents ST Oyster Air King Perpetual that was in some stuff left to me by a relative. The watch itself was without a strap and the plexiglass (or whatever the glass type) was damaged but the watch still worked fine. I sent it to Rolex for an estimate and it arrived back today...Service - ?430 ($694) includes tax and the glass replacementBracelet Options - Jubilee ?730 ($1,177), Oyster ?660 ($1,065) or Basic leather strap / buckle - ?150 ($242)Optional Parts - Replacement dial - ?338 ($545)Apparently the dial is 'marked' which is not something I noticed when I checked the watch so I would probably skip that (plus their estimate says the replacement dial would not have a textured finish and they will change the batons). The date is predetermined this time because Saturday seems to be the best day for attendance and the Boutique only has the Baselworld pieces for a very short window of time.As always, drinks and hors d'oeuvre will be served, and feel free to bring any new acquisitions you want to show off! If you can't make it Saturday night, the Boutique will have the pieces starting Thursday the 4th through the weekend. If you are planing to look at the pieces another day, I would call the Boutique and set up an appointment with what you would like to see and what time. considering the crazy 5711 market thinking about trading
with how crazy the 5711 market has gotten have any of you considered trading to something different? i doubt id actually do it but i¡¯m tempted seeing how you can get a 5235 or 5205 etc for just a bit more cash. dumb idea when the dealers are telling me i¡¯m wearing the one everyone wants already but fun to think about.

Got a leather strap for christmas
Hi all,I got a leather strap for Christmas for my DJ41 and am wondering if it will definitely fit. I think the strap size is 21mm from what I have read on here (information has seemed to vary from 20mm to 21mm). It looks like it will fit but won¡¯t have much, if any, room at the lugs. I was wondering if anyone knows if 21mm is definitely the right size?This is my first Rolex and I¡¯m concerned that if I do get the strap replaced it will be very difficult to remove due to the lack of play at the lugs as the leather is quite thick. My AD is quite far so don¡¯t particularly want to make the trip if it¡¯s definitely a no go. Thanks for any advice.
