First Omega (luxury) Watch
Hi guys,Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I'm hoping to purchase my first big boy watch this weekend and I'm lookingto buy an Omega Seamaster 300m in Black Dial. However no matter how hard I try to search online, I can't seem to find the price of the watch from an AD. That's why I'm posting here to seek help and advice from you nice people. From looking online the price of the watch from grey market websites like Jomashop and even Amazon (sold directly from Amazon) is around $2700. I don't expect to get this price buying from an AD but I truly don't know what price to expect and if there will be any room to bargain with an AD. A little more context, I live in Chicago, I currently have a $250 gift card from CD Peacock so I'll probably go there first. After that I might visit an Omega flagship store and then Tourneau. I heard it last Friday from another Omega AD and it was confirmed by a friend who works at a local Ben Bridge store today. He is a Sales Associate and did not know the reason, but they got the memo this morning. He mentioned that they are going to offer all their Omega stock at 20% off. I was not impressed because I get 30% off from an out-of-state AD.

A what age you bought your 1st Patek ?
My first Patek was really my 1st High end watch. I started with watches in May 2012, so for the last 6 months of 2012 I bought JLC, Rolex, Omega, etc; Until my 41 birthday on January 2013, I post a thread called Is Hobnail the Final Answer? Let's call a friend just in case . On that thread I was convinced that if I was going to pull the trigger for something that expensive like a Patek it had to be the strongest representation of the brand something that set it a part from the rest. Nautilus vs Sub
I just recieved a PM requesting whether the 5711 possibly wore larger than a 116618 considering the fixed lugs on the Nautilus might be longer.They requested some wrist shots to determine the difference.The Nautilus actually wears a lot smaller than your 116618. I have a 16610LV and if anything the lugs are just a bit longer on the Sub than the Nautilus.The big difference however will be in the thickness of the watch. The 5711 is extremely thin when comparted to the 16610, and it will be even more so when compared to your 116618. The movement on the 5711 is only 3.3 mm thick and the case reflects this.So much so, that one should really check it out in person. I would consider the 5711 to be a very elegant sports watch, that may or may not appeal to some people. Most Patek ADs will have some form of Nautilus on hand, unfortunately not all will have a 5711 on hand.
