Omega 1660310 wrist watches news:
There are a lot of different ways to start a watch company. You can scour history books for the name of a distinguished watchmaker to appropriate (hurry though, the pool of respectable ones is shrinking fast.) You can come up with some exotic mechanism that has a lot of novelty appeal, but which may or may not actually hold anyone's interest after the first five minutes have passed. You can resurrect one of the casualties of the Quartz Crisis, and trade on borrowed good will created by a company that sold its last watch before the 1969 Astron was a gleam in Seiko's eye. 1 OF 5 Or, you can do something that's pretty rare: create interesting, well-thought-out designs that actually appeal to your customer's intelligence, instead of playing on their ignorance. (It is said that a fool and his money are soon parted, but building a business empire on this cynical truism seems a spiritually debased way to make a living.) I was wondering if someone can help identify this watch.Recently my father passed away and this weekend we went to sort out his house and went through his stuff to figure out what goes where. My father was a bit of a character, he lived a bit, never really good with money, but he liked nice things, and lived pretty far beyond his means so he left me some bills. Among some of the things was a wooden box. Its something I remember as a kid growing up, he would put stuff in there wallet keys and also stuff that was a kind of momento. I found lots of corks from good wines with dates written on, some gambling chips from The Sands , a parking ticket from London England ? his car keys, passport, lots of European currency and amongst the stuff couple of watches. One is a 'Sin' brand kind of looks like a pilot watch, has the days in German, and there is a Rolex, or at least its printed Rolex on the dial. I did some research but the dial looks a bit wrong. There is a line of printing below the "2
Hi Omega Lovers,I see in the "Most Popular Brand Among Forum Members" thread in the general forum Omega are now equal on votes with Invicta. Both are on 69.Most popular brand among forum membersThis is impressive in itself but when you think of the ratio of Invicta Forum regulars (twice as many posts as Omega Forum) to Omega regulars I think it is a great acheivement for Omega in a place where people are most knowledgable. So if any of you haven't voted yet pop on over to the general forum and make Omega the most popular brand.
Customs has the time, ready to seize fake watches 12 January 2008 - Issue : 764 Fake watches from all the top brands, including Louis Vuitton Diesel, Gucci and Rolex on sale in Bangkok, Thailand, home for many pirated brands and goodsANA/EPA/BARBARA WALTON People arriving in Switzerland wearing fake watches could have their illicit goods snatched away under new customs powers that come into force from July 1, government officials said. For the first time, border officials will be able to confiscate counterfeit products intended for personal use, in addition to existing powers to seize items smuggled into the country for resale. The illegal counterfeit market costs the Swiss economy an estimated two billion Swiss Francs (USD 1.79 billion) a year and the watch making industry alone some 800 million francs (USD 718 million). The recent amendment to the Swiss patent protection laws closed a loophole that allowed individuals to enter the country with fake goods they had bought for themselves.
Anyone snorkel or swim with the Omega Speedmaster 9300 with date occasionally? I'm really interested in this watch but just have a hard time feeling comfortable with the water resistance with no screw downs on the pushers. Or am I worrying too much about nothing?
