Swatch Group Acquires Harry Winston Watch & Jewelry
The Swatch Group has added another jewel ¡ª or, more precisely, jeweler ¡ª to its crown. The Bienne, Switzerland-based company, which owns watch brands ranging from Swatch to Hamilton to Omega to Breguet, announced Monday that it is acquiring world-renowned jewelry brand Harry Winston, which in recent years has also become a bastion of high watchmaking.In the deal, Swatch Group Ltd. gets 100 percent of the shares of HW Holdings Inc., owner of New York-based Harry Winston, Inc., giving the Group ownership of the brand and all activities related to its jewelry and watches, including its 535 employees worldwide and production company in Geneva, Switzerland. The acquisition sum amounts to U.S. $750 million plus the assumption of up to U.S. $250 million of pro forma net debt. Hi everyoneI have inherited an 18k closed face un inscribed patek philippe 5 minute repeater, the face says tiffany and co, the back bevel after you open the casein the back has patek, philippe &co inscribed, you need a loop to see that inscription, there are case serial numbers which I'll post later if you tell me this is importantI have looked at the movement, once the back is opened it's protected by it's own crystal.The problem, the movement seems to have a guard covering the actual works and there is neither serial number nor patek hallmarks anywhere to be found, I would have to dismantle the back to see the actual chasis if I wanted to find a hall markis this possible on a patek movement?thank you in advance for all information you can providebtwmy dad also left me a patek wrist watch, little small for my liking and a vacheron hinged lug wrist watch as well, when I get to the vault I'll try to post some pics for all to seeI am very proud of this collection, my dad cared for
