Omega Omega 18416 wrist watches news:
Hi, guys! I am new to this forum. I just got a 2225.80 last week and love it so much. It gains 7 seconds in the first 5 days and less than 1 second in the recent 2 days as I can tell. I am very satisfied till now. When I am shaking it and putting my ear on the watch, I can hear the counterweight spinning inside. I am wondering if it is normal or you guys can not hear a single sound? Thanks!Sorry for the crappy pic.
Hi everybody,Having been a Rolex wearer for many years, I have now fallen in love with IWC. Actually this happened years ago but I'm only now in a position to buy one. I'm heading to Hong Kong next month for that very purpose - an early Christmas present to myself. Now, I'm really looking for wise guidance. My questions are these:I really want an IWC Pilot Chronograph, but don't have a big wrist - the 42mm may be too big as the top of my wrist from beginning one curve to the other is about 50mm. What's your opinion?I've read somewhere that the older version was around 39mm - How much are these going for nowadays and does anybody recommend a good place for second hand IWC's in Hong Kong?
So I posted a thread a few days ago to see if I can get some information on this Patek, some said it might be real some said it's fake.So I took it to a service center and had the watch opened up (amazing how the movement looks, makes a big impression) and it's a real Patek which makes me very happy. They told me the watch needs a service and told me they would get me the ref# and a full description and model history for around 1000pln (350usd). Is that a fair price? The gentleman at the service center didn't want to tell me much about the watch until I handed over some money, but he said he knows Pateks fairly well and he told me is very old and a rare model. He was really impressed with the craftsmanship of the gold watch strap as well.He also told me that selling a watch like this could be tricky, if you want to get top dollar you need all the information you can get and put it out where collectors of such watches would be looking.Any tips on how to do this? Thanks!Rob
Incoming 1962 10k RGP case Hamilton Farrell that has a 17j 686 movement. Will post pics when I receive it.
It's cold out, really cold out. But with the cold comes winter activities and the ski season I've been waiting for since last April. I've noticed Linde Werdelin is making ski inspired watches as well as some actually functional ski equipment. (Not sure I'd leave the lodge with one of those on my wrist...) Though their watches are not necessarily what I'm presently interested in purchasing, I thought it would be interesting to here some more experienced collectors comment on the relatively young brand. For fun, a challenge; can anyone think of another winter inspired watch? If no others really exist, what other watches seem most suited for winter sports?
