- Love the watch, except that the sapphires are much er than they appear on the picture at SaleReplica. Overall I am very pleased and I get lots of compliments on the modern styling.

Omega 231.55.30.20.55.002 wrist watches news:
Girard-Perregaux reveals the complexity behind the dial, adding a level of mechanical involvement to an already dramatic timepiece. The movement¡¯s wheels and levers co-star with the large date and moon-phase displays to increase appreciation of the intricate inner engine.Too often, the fascinating interplay of components that power timepiece displays is hidden behind a dial. Girard-Perregaux draws the curtain back with a dial fashioned from clear, tinted sapphire. The result is a smoked-glass effect that reveals the caliber beneath and that shows off the applied Art Deco hour markers to great effect. The smoked sapphire dial highlights the displays while leaving the movement visible for all to see. Focusing front and center, the large date and moon-phase displays grab your attention. Like most big-dates, this one places the digits on two separate disks. Girard-Perregaux uses some clever engineering to minimize the ¡°two level effect¡± that often plagues such displays. One disk is cle
Hey guys!I've been busy all day going through the watches/movements that I bought at the NAWCC last week and this one was next in line. Most of them were in very good overall condition and just needed to be cleaned (except for this one). At first glance you're probably thinking that this one needs to go into the scrap bin! MANY of the parts are rusted beyond belief and the movement is seized up. This is a 1925 Elgin, 15 jewels, grade 464, size 3/0s. So, do you think that this one is savable ? ? ? I personally think that tossing out a 15 jewel Elgin is a crime without giving it a shot! You guys know that I am a glutton for lost cause watches. I was on the phone with another forum member last week and we agreed that you could probably shave with an electric razor over one of these Elgin movements and that it would still keep on running. It's a workhorse ! ! ! So, will it run or not ? ? ?So, after about an hour's worth of work several parts have been replaced and a lot of rust and dirt ha
What is a steel&gold Cosmonaut worth today???
My Nautilus has a clean bill of health from Professor Chaos. Dial and movement are perfect and no scratches on the bracelet or case.
Hello TRF!I am new to the forum but have been lurking for a very long time on TRF to build up my knowledge on watches. I am in my mid 20s and have finally saved up enough money, after meeting all my priorities, for a 16713 Root Beer. I will get the watch in the next few days and will be posting more pictures. I plan to give this to my father for his up coming birthday. He has been wanting a X serial (my birth year) Root Beer all his life but every time he had his chance to get the watch, he chose to spend the money on us. He is still holding on the 16713 Root Beer paper cut out I made for him when I was a kid so I know how much he wants that watch. In a few days I will finally get the watch. I am planning to get it to a watch maker who has a Rolex account to look at the watch. In the meantime, I am pleading the wise men of TRF for help and give me your opinions. The resolution of the pictures are not great and sometimes overblown, but please do your best to tell me if there are any re
