Omega 2218.50.00 wrist watches news:
Light yellowish brewing within the solemn atmosphere of soft, beautiful and the contribution the Royal grandeur.
What do you think a gorgeous watch should cost that's meticulously crafted, and features a fine ETA automatic movement, a thick, domed sapphire crystal, state-of-the-art lume, a superb strap or bracelet, and many more amenities? $5,000? $4,000? $3,000.? $2,000.? Hold that thought. Now, what do you think when you see a watch on worn&wound that has all the above going for it but only costs about 500 bucks? Impossible? Mistake? Piece of junk? Drunk editor? Typo? Probably made in a leper colony in Outer Mongolia? All the above?Well, if you're a regular reader of this blog, you know damn well what $500 will get you: a damn incredible watch! But did you ever wonder how that's possible? Or if serious watch makers offering those deals are making any money? Let me assure you that it's extremely possible, and those (smart) companies are doing quite well, thank you very much.Let's examine this conundrum by first looking at distribution. Watch companies that offer the most extreme value are sel
Hey guys,I got these watches from my dad and they are in bad need of restoration. He claims to have had these since the 70's.The standard Seamaster the crystal appears to be in good shape. For this one I plan to simply get serviced on the internals and a new strap. Runs like a champ. This one has the standard gold Seamaster back cover. That is all that reads. For the Chrono..looks like this needs new glass and needs to be cleaned up.The second hand is not running, but the watch appears to keep time. Doing a bit of research, the chrono appears to be a calibre 321? This one has a brushed stainless steel back that reads WATERPROOFCan anyone shed some additional info on these watches? The hands appear to be in good shape(a bit of tar build up). Based on the images, should I simply re-band,re-crystal and clean up the watch and retain all original hands/dial?Thanks for any input.Chrono
I know we get TV in the UK a little behind the USA but on last night's episode of "Gossip Girl" - one of the characters bought her boyfriend a Patek Philippe Aquanaut as a Christmas Present (I'm guessing this was the Christmas episode that most likely aired around December 2007 in the USA). Of course, he refused the gift as "too much" - but hey ho!He did however comment "It is the most amazing watch I have ever seen!"Interesting that it was just "in the box" on the show and not sealed up and the giver then "returned it". Artistic license perhaps :)I also noticed reference to Patek Philippe in the TV show starring Donald Sutherland "Dirty Sexy Money" in which a young member of the "Darling" family is bought a watch."He only wanted a Patek Philippe because you have one" one of the characters comments to the boy's father. Not particularly horological - but just interesting that in the last few weeks I have seen two direct Patek references in popular TV shows where once I would have expec
My memory of my first goes like this...in a non AD jewelry store selling old gold jewelry . They store has been around for many years and has two locations. Anyway as they handed me the check for the gold, I wisecracked that I would put that towards my first Rolex. Even though I was the family watch lover, my wife, her sister and brother in law all got Rolex SS models before I had any Rolex . So the salesman says, hey, I have a few Rolex models in the back. Would you like to see them? I had been buying watches such as invicta, renato, citizen, seiko and a breitling but no rolex. I had een asking my wife but the timing always seemed off with other bills due. So, I deferred to my wife cause I knew if I said yes and then begged her to let me buy it, the doghouse would have my name on it. So he comes out with two, both 16613 subs. One was a bluesy but looked pretty beat up and the other was the one in my avatar, a two yone serti sub. It looked to be in realy good shape, but missing the fi
