Grabbed a few photos of my Sub today while at the pool
These were taken with my little Pentax Optio point and shoot camera I got in January. I bought it for those times you don't want to have a DSLR and backpack full of lenses. Here's a shot of the association pool where my old bachelor pad condo is located (I still own it and rent it out...so we still use the pool) - as you can see, it takes pretty darn good outdoor shots:We were the only ones at the pool for most of the day!The Optio has a macro mode, and can take some decent wrist shots...again, if you're outside with lots of light: The camera can also be used underwater - another big reason why I bought it. I was pretty impressed with this wrist shot: This shot of the watch sitting on a ladder step underwater came out amazingly well...blind luck actually. Litterally - I didn't bring a mask or goggles and couldn't see the camera screen worth a darn when I was underwater:I'm looking forward to a GREAT Hawaii vacaion in less than 2 weeks with Sub and my new underwater camera!

Houston, The Speedy has landed!
My Speedy finally arrived today. It is better than I expected, excellent quality and killer good looks. I liked the metal bracelet more than I thought I would, not so sure about the leather strap anymore Unfortunately I wont be able to provide a wrist shot until Friday. I lent my digital camara to my cousin for her 3 week trip to Spain, Egypt and Israel and she is not due back until Thursday night.I do have two questions:1) Where can I get polywatch?2) Can anyone reference a site with pictures on how to polish the glass? The hexalite is perfect now but I suspect I may need it one day. Unfortunately I am a visual learner so pics help a lot. As my friends can attest, you could spend some time explaining to me how to do something, but show me a pic or blueprints and I can take appart and fix something better than the "experts" themselves. PS: Happy election day! Remember, no matter who wins at the end of the day we are all still a happy American family.

New pants for an old friend
Timebender (Charlie) and myself recently each got a new Hammie and we both immediately replaced the straps that they came on with something else. (Great minds think alike)As it turned out I had an unused strap that I wasn't going to use and so did he.Being the diplomatic individuals that we are we traded straps and now are both happy.Charlie's watch came on a Canvas strap which I wanted for my Khaki Mechanical. It had been on a gray Nato which looked good but I can't seem to get comfortable with nylon Nato straps and the canvas,for me, gives the vintage military look that I want with this watch.I was stuck with a black leather strap but I prefer a brown strap with my black dialed military watches.So the black leather went to NC and the canvas came North!!What it wasWhat it is

AD in Zurich
I am in Switzerland now with my wife for the first time and tomorrow will be in Zurich. I would like to buy a rolex sport watch as my memorial about this visit which is my 12th wedding anniversary. Does anyone can recommend AD in Zurich?I know it is quite difficult to get but just would like to try. Is it better chance to get it here in Zurich?
