Initial Impressions: Citizen Nighthawk
Citizen is a brand that needs little introduction. They have been around for almost a century, they are one of the largest watch brands currently in business, they are available at almost every major department store and certainly most mainstream watch stores and they are considered to be very well made. Yet, despite their reach and popularity, we haven't reviewed or featured a single citizen watch on worn&wound yet. Well¡­that's sort of a lie, because every time we discuss a watch that is powered by a Miyota movement, whether it is a Maratac pilot or a L¨¹m-Tec Combat B16, we are in fact indirectly talking about Citizen as they own Miyota, but we have not directly discussed a Citizen branded watch.? This is for a simple albeit subjective reason, most of them just don't interest us. Style isn't exactly Citizen's strong suit (I hope I don't make too many enemies by saying that) and for the price there are generally sexier options out there. New Hamiltion..Khaki Mechanical....! Pics
Greetings Everyone...My new, 1st modern Hamilton arrived yesterday! It is a Khaki Mechanical. A very simple plan watch powered by a ETA 2804-2 wind up!So far it is + 7 seconds for 24 hrs...I do not think that is too bad! I suspect it will "settle down" after a period of time. The watch appears very well made. The strap feels good on wrist, may get a light brown leather strap later on.BTW.. I have a Jazzmaster Viewmatic on the way! How to keep multiple automatic watches wound
Yes, I know there are such things as watch winders, but it seems to me that there are more people here with multiple automatic watches than there are people with winders. So, how do you keep them wound? To find out I have started this poll to find out.At the moment I only have 1, and it only has a date complication, so if it runs down I just set it again. I think I will do the same for the next. It could get a bit much when I have a few and each day I am putting on a watch that needs setting. And I can definitely see how having more complications makes a winder seem more and more like a necessity!
