Steel watch decision...
Hey all,I'm looking hard at the Aquanaut 5167 on strap. Close to jumping on it but two other contenders have also caught my eye. The first is the AP Diver, another steel Genta-style watch on rubber. And also the VC Overseas Dual Time in Grey with a leather strap. Both the VC and AP are similar prices, the Aquanaut of course is a little more.The lucky piece will be joining a 5726 white dial and VC Overseas 3-hander white dial - both steel white dial watches which I enjoy. Along with other unmentionables. It is difficult to find an aquanaut to try on so I have to go with my only demo which was on a bracelet and I didn't love it that way. The VC is beautiful and discreet in grey. The AP is well - impressive. Chunky, clean, and surprisingly comfortable.If anyone has any experience or insight into those three pieces I would appreciate some feedback. The Aquanaut is on hold for me, but I don't have much time as there are other potential buyers waiting to chomp.Thanks in advance...

Patek Nautilus choices - 5726a or 5980?
Currently being offered a great trade in price for a used 5980 blue dial for my 5726. I really like the bracelet on the 5980 but feel that the AC complication is more useful on the 5726. Visited European Watch Co in Boston v.Pics
Stopped by the very friendly and knowledgeable European Watch Co on Newbury St in Boston. I stopped in as they had a 5164 and 5167 in stock (pre-owned, they are not an AD) and I wanted to compare them side by side. I also wanted to compare the 5726 dial to the Aquanaut dial.The hold up with the Aquanaut is the bezel looks a little dinged up (you can see the marks in the close up pic, they are right by the 1oclock mark on outer bezel and also in between the 12-1 mark middle bezel. I came to realize three things:1. I am glad my 5167 purchase fell through as the 5164 is perfection.2. I am glad I went with 5712 over 5726 as the 5726 dial in person is identical color to the 5164 so the blue dial 5712 is a perfect mate for the 5164.3. The Nautilus looks much better on a leather strap than I had originally thought.I also tried on a watch that is on my grail list, A Lange Platinum Datograph Man that Platinum is heavy and the movement is mesmerizing. Long Awaited Incoming
Well after waiting almost a year and not being able to find one of these here in Maryland anywhere, I finally caved and decided I didn��t (couldn��t) want to wait any longer. So here she is. Thanks to a flawless transaction with Takuya, my slightly used ( and by slightly I mean 11 days. I thought only person that bought a watch and then changed my mind a week later) my new SD43. This thing is definitely all that I hoped for and wanted. I loved the JC DSSD but it was just too thick. I love subs but wanted something that felt just a little tougher. The band on this is so well proportioned and the tapered lugs make it look even better. I have a tiny 6.5 inch wrist, but with the diver��s extension removed it fits me as well as any other sub. Finally I am a member of the club. Now watch my AD call me tomorrow and say he has mine lol. Thanks for reading.
