Disapointing trip to the watch repair shop.
Just got back from watch shop to have some links removed from my new 2254.50 Seamaster and asked the guy what he thinks of Omega watches. He replied "just O.K." I said what do you mean? He says "They have crown problems, clasp problems and movement quality isn't that great" He then pulls out a clasp that broke that was brought in for repair. $140 his cost to replace. Thin part broke and spring. Poor design he says on the clasp. "Don't set and wind the crown to much, they break easly" I told him I didn't expext Rolex quality when purchasing, but was hoping for a Swiss made watch to be of a higher quality than what he was telling me. Should I be worried? Anyone have issues with thier Seamasters or other newer Omegas?Thanks! I still love my Seamaster!

Laser etching on Omega glass.
I have heard people mentioning and indeed displaying photographs of laser etched Omega symbols on the inside of hesalite and other similar types of glass. When did Omega start doing this? It's just that I have seen vintage Omegas advertised on the bay that claim to have their original glass in perfect condition, and to prove the point the seller usually mentions the etching. I'm always dubious as I thought the laser etched symbols are a fairly recent innovation.

Who here has put a leather strap on their RO 15400?I've seen some pics from AP Bands but they aren't wrist shots. Does anyone have any pics?

Hi guys, i am planning to have either one for X Mass and went to PP store and found both with white dial. The 5205 with black dial is on the waiting list. So I tried them and honestly I like both and couldn't decide. I wanted to compare with the 5146 but it was not available. Can you help please. Which one out the 3 would you pick? Cheers
