My Quest for ALL of the Elgin RED 12 Size 6s Trench Watches in now COMPLETE ! ! ! ! !
Hey guys ! ! !After YEARS of searching my QUEST is finally COMPLETE ! ! ! ! ! !ALL of the SIZE 6s Elgin RED 12 Enamel Dial Trench Watches have now been found and cataloged.These are by FAR the RAREST of the RARE to obtain.I have restored hundreds of Elgin Trench Watches but these three are so rare that I have only seen ONE of each of them ! ! ! ! !Elgin only made THREE different enamel dial styles for the GIANT size 6s trench watches.Bold Roman Numeral - Arabic Numeral - Shadow Box NumeralALL THREE have a "USA" stamp just below the ELGIN signature on the enamel dial.All three have a "Silverode" case that was made by the Philadelphia Watch Case Company during the Great War that measures 38mm without the crown.They are my pride and joy ! ! ! ! 1918 Elgin, 15 jewels, grade 295, Arabic Dial.1918 Elgin, 15 jewels, grade 295, BOLD Roman Dial.1917 Elgin, 7 jewels, grade 286, Shadow Box Dial.I honestly don't know what to do with myself now that ALL THREE have finally been found ! ! ! ! !

PVD question
I have noticed some nice looking watches with PVD cases and PVD bracelets. I am wondering the experience of owners of these watches with the durability of the PVD finish on both the case and the bracelet. In short, are they pretty tough or do they scratch easily?In my experience, stainless steel cases and bracelets don't scratch easily and if they do get scratched, it does not show. Just wondering. Why make so many Datejusts?
I've been on this forum for a few hours now and can't remember seeing any Datejust threads. These watches are just not in play at all even as new relases, so hope Rolex take a good look at the forums and SM hype, and see they need to drastically alter production to suit where demand and interest really lies.

Back when you could just buy one
October 2014. I was on my almost daily walk through the jewellery arcade near my office. Walked into my AD and in the window was the batman. Now I wasn't looking to buy that day however needless to say I bought it. All I remember was the guy telling me he¡¯d just put it in the window. Luck I guess.
