The Oris Big Crown ProPilot Calibre 111 is finally the Oris sport watch I have been asking for. This is the first non-dressy or traditional watch (depending on how you look at it) to include Oris' in-house made movement. Oris currently has two in-house made movements known as the Calibre 110 and the Calibre 111. The former was released in 2014 as a limited edition (hands-on here) to celebrate the brand's 110th anniversary. One year later, in 2015, Oris released an almost identical Calibre 111 watch that was not a limited edition. The only difference between the Calibre 110 and the 111 is the addition of the date in the latter.At launch, I asked Oris, "as a brand so strong with sport watches, why are you putting the Calibre 110 into a more formal watch?" My frequent daydreams...
Every now and then, I daydreamed. And today I dreamed (again) that one day I will be able to afford to enter the WOSTEP school and finally take up my basic training course! Do any of you considered going or have gone?? The Basic course is CHF35,000 which includes tuition, basic accommodation and train tickets to factories. It is a 32,000 hour course, spanning over 2 years. There is, however, a 2 day test which you must pass before starting the actual course proper. Books and tool kits are an additional CHF 2800. That translates to SGD40,000. And I am excluding inflation rate here!! the closest accreditation I got are these two.

Just arrived yesterday - a B01 Chronomat - gently pre-loved condition. I like the watch even more than I thought I would. The dial is fantastic, and I am finding it very comfortable. I have an aftermarket Hirsch strap on the way - testing how I like the strap before buying a Breitling black croc on deployant. Here's a wristy shot.
