I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish a happy first birthday to THE OFFICAL HAMILTON FORUM.The forum began on January 1, 2008 and with the help of many, members got a chance to fall in love with a new brand in the WTF family.Of special note, the contributions of mgiraz, eddiea, tbarry, two21b, MacDaddy, charlie, and mid-season replacements (aka the vintage guys) Tom Diss and Will Roseman. There were others who jumped aboard and I apologize if I do not mention you by name.Needless to say, as we were feeling our way for a couple of weeks, an angel from northern California came to our rescue with definitive answers to questions posed to us. I am referring to hamiltonelectric, Rene Rondeau, whose involvement here really put us on the map. When you can get the guy who wrote the book, actually two books, on Hamilton watches, you know you are blessed.My partner and friend, foghorn and I enjoyed our time here and wish the OHF good fortune for 2009 and beyond.Happy birthday, baby.:D

update on Triton 2000s and Le Mans
We now have our new shipment of Triton 2000s in and ready to ship! We enjoyed a successful sale on the Triton 2000 Swiss Dive watch over the summer. Actually, it was popular enough, that while it was supposed to end mid September, we will go ahead and take it to the end of the month, September 30th is the last day Also, I want to let you all know there is some work being done with the Le Mans series, so expect some exciting things to come your way in the not too distant future regarding that. what brands hold value the best/ brand yearly production?
I'm interested to know which makes of high end watches hold their value best and why. I've read that traditionally Rolex hold very well however how do other brands like Breitling and Omega do in this area? What about smaller brands like Panerai and very small makes like Blancpain and Vacheron Constantin? How do jewelry brands do Bvlgari, Chopard, Harry Winston?From what I've read quickly so far Blancpain don't always hold so well which is surprising for a company that only produces about 10,000 watches a year where-as Rolex who makes around 1,000,000 do hold well.Do special editions (say with runs of 500 or so for a particular model) hold well in comparison?Your thoughts and theories? Before I get started on this, let me just say I was a die hard 42mm fan. The dial was more proportionate, I liked the bezel better, and I liked the white numerals more than the orange.That being said...I stopped into the boutique at The Aventura Mall the other night. I wasn't expecting to buy anything. I wanted to see a few things - the two-register PO, the two-register Speedmaster and a few other things.And then I tried on the 45.5mm PO - the new one. I did not want what happened to happen - but it did. It looked better than the previous version of the 45.5. It had the same features I found aesthetically pleasing in the 42. The finish seems so much nicer than on the previous version.Here are some shots...As you can see - the numerals are not painted, they are applied. And gorgeous. I would normally have opted for the white numerals - here is why I didn't. They are very shiny. The orange numerals are satin or bead blasted. And much more appealing than the shiny.I don't know if it's me,
