Omega Omega 1085 wrist watches news:
Hi everyone, I'm a new member, and this is first post. I'm hoping for some info from the horology experts-collectors here. I have an old Deco Patek ladies watch my Father left me 10 years ago with some other fine estate jewelry when he passed. He collected all kinds of items......like me Here are some pics of the watch..There's also a very nice Deco platinum diamond-emerald bracelet that kind of matches this watch. At the "time" I received this watch & other items, I had an old friend I went to high school with in LA.who is a GIA graduate, and worked at GIA in Santa Monica as the curator of the gem collection for many years.take a look at this Patek watch and all the other estate jewelry. She was curator of the gem collection, but liked watches a bit also, but was not a complete expert She said it was a nice old Patek, and she thought the movement, at least the top plate with the name engraving etc. was also made of platinum, like the bracelet and it was a bit unusual. gosh, i really love the look of this watch, even more than all the other offerings with complications. now where do i get 5100$?
Hey guys !I was going through my bins looking for a dial the other day and I came across these other dials.I guess that these poor souls were just not meant to survive history (or survive some hack that didn't know what he/she was doing).I NEVER toss dials out, they just go into the bins and are saved for some reason or another. Some might be used one day but all have sustained major damage that has ruined them in one way or another.Darn shame that they were not taken better care of as some of them are quite rare, I would pay an insane amount for some of them in pristine condition like the last RED 12 Elgin near the bottom ! ! !Elgin size 6s, hand painted.Elgin size 0s, tri-color.Hayward Watch Company with a "USA" stamp, size 0s, two tone.Waltham size 0s, USA stamp, Arabic.Elgin size 0s, BOLD Roman numeral RED XII.Elgin size 3/0s, Star Dial.Elgin size 3/0s, metal dial with a RED 12 and a "USA" stamp, 11-17 date stamp, faded RED 12, (very rare factory metal RED 12).Lancet, Lignes 15 3/8,
only 5 months in production, some say less than 3000 made, most of the times can't find them ob Ebay and Chrono24.Anyway, it's a gorgeous piece and I'm glad I found it YES ! NOS :-)Don't ask me where and how :-) , it was part of the hunt
I am often in Hong Kong and plan to visit Scandinavia this summer. I have noticed at huge difference in Rolex prices from Hong Kong to most Scandinavian countries. I am guessing it is mainly due to high tax/vat (25%)Was thinking of buying a popular Rolex model while in HK and then selling while in Denmark. For the buyer there would be a nice saving and I could get some of my travel costs covered. It this a good idea or not?
