Pebble Time Round Watch
When it comes to the smart watch segment, you have a multitude of options these days. One of the earlier brands to hit the scene was Pebble, with their selling point being the e-ink screen that was, for one, always on and, second, made for some long battery life. All of their previous offerings have been more of a square or rectangle, which sort of conforms to the rectangular slab aesthetic we have come to expect from the phone manufacturers. When it comes to watches, there is something that just feels "more right" when it is a round case ¨C and the folks at Pebble must agree, as they have just announced the Pebble Time Round.Round is obviously the story here - the Pebble Time Round looks more like a traditional watch. You can, of course, make it look as traditional as you would like via watch faces in their store. Of note is the e-ink screen which is in color now, rather than monochrome. Finally found one that was resonable!
I recently obtained a very nice Hamilton RR Special with a 505 movement. The watch did not have a battery clip; however in my spare parts I had one. The seller ever without the battery clip did test it with a battery with a wire to make a connection and it did run, They were correct however they did not run it if for a long period of time.Many times you hear of 500, 501, and 505 movements that run for a while then stops. Typical this problem is the result of the Shock Resist Jewels on the Balance Assembly are loose. On the Balance Bridge there is a Shock Resist Jewel and one on the front of the movement, they both hold the Balance Assembly in place. On the Shock Resist Jewels there is a spring loaded O-ring that has become loose and is not tight within the grove. I simple use a tooth pick and put and tightened the O-ring back into its groove. Two in one day - Watch retail therapy
Hi All,I've had my eye on a couple of watches for a while and today decided a bit of retail therapy is what I needed. I was going to buy one or the other and then thought "what the heck" and got them both.The funny thing is I don't like either of these watchmakers range very much apart from these two particular watches (and have said so on this forum a few times). I'm pleased I found a watch from both brands that I like as I want as deep and wide a collection as possible (yeah I have the bug big time!)A few iPhone shots to follow. I hope you like the watches (if not the quality of the photos!)PS - The Breitling is brand new (the deal I was offered was seriously too good to turn away - 40% off recommended price). The AP was worn by an AD employee for a while and is my first "used" buy.

Why has AP stopped production of forged carbon's watch?
Is it something to do with the material itself? not durable?
