Oris 01 915 7643 4054 07 5 21 81FC wrist watches news:
Hey guys,I have myself a Seamaster Pro 2531.80. I bought it second-hand a couple of years ago.The rotating bezel appears to have got stuck in place 4 seconds from the original position. Its starting to get a bit annoying. Is it a case of cleaning it to free it up? Is this something that should be done by a watch master?

Although Friedberg mentions "Generic Cases", I had no idea of the size of this part of the business to Illinois, even after its purchase by Hamilton. Apparently, a significant number of watches were sold with Star/Stellar, Philadelphia victory and Illinois Watch Case Co. cases. The difference between these and the ones on which Friedberg focuses are: 1) they were cased outside the factory (by jobbers or case manufacturers?); and 2) most were not named. All appear to be based on the Illinois 307 movements, which could be purchased directly from the factory. Their price point, as can be seen from the Ads below, was set at the lower end of the Illinois factory cased watches. The following ads are from 1929:Illinois with Star/Stellar CasesIllinoisAd2.jpgIllinois with Philadelphia (Victory) and Illinois Watch Case cases:IllinoisAd1.jpgAlthough they were not factory cased, they still are a very collectable Illinois variant.
Hey guys! Sorry if this is alittle off watch topic, but it has to do with the sale of a watch!!My buyer is outside of the U.S. And does not do Paypal, so we have agreed on a wire transfer of funds. However, even after speaking to my bank, I am still unsure of how to do this safely and securely. My buyer and I have been in great communication and he seems like an awesome guy, but I just want to make sure I am doing this most securely. I do not want to hand over all of my account info under unsecure terms. Anyone have experience with international wires? Thanks a lot in advance guys!!John
I've owned four Rolex watches in my life (now 58 years old), but only one at a time. My current Rolex is my TT DJ 16013 which I bought new 23 years ago this month. After a visit to the RSC in November, it's like new again . . . it wasn't cheap, but it really is like new.The WIS guys and other members of this forum have succeeded in corrupting me and feeding my desire to own more nice Swiss watches. I had just about settled on a 36mm Explorer I when I suddenly discovered the Omega Railmaster. Based on my research, as well as a price comparison with the Explorer I, the Railmaster started looking really good. Then, on Christmas Eve, a fellow forum member posted an ad for a 6 month old 36.2mm Railmaster he had worn very little (it turned out to be basically perfect) with 2 1/2 years of warranty left for a really sweet price ($1,650.00). I jumped on it. Once I got it on my arm, I like it far better than the Explorer I.Then I got the urge for a GMT Master. I had always like the watch
