Hi everyone. My El Primero Moonphase Chronograph has returned from Zenith after its' overhaul. Great customer service and very quick (under 3 weeks). It is performing brilliantly. Here are a few photographs as promised.
Hi. In canvassing the web for Pateks, I notice some big ones that seem to suggest old movements from 1880s or so, purportedly pocket watches of that era that have now been converted into wrist watches, keeping the original 'enamel casing' but now housed in glass. Dial size is a massive 45mm to even 51mm (at which size it could be worn on the forearm more than on the wrist). I would imagine these would border on fakes but the machinery seems genuinely from that time, which means it's original Patek and the official servicing might still be supported. And the sellers who sell this type of stuff are rated 100% positive on big ecommerce sites -- like the bay one. So the watches seem legit. One of the sellers says that these movements are genuine and widely covered in the Patek books. How can I confirm (or otherwise) these claims? Where can I find these books? Google doesn't turn up anything meaningful. The seller has been quite convincing -- and he's the owner of a pretty solid looking bus
I have been on the hunt for this for a while now after a couple of quick transactions from TS'ers here in our community. But I expanded my search criteria about 100 miles from home and got an email yesterday after only a couple of weeks that what I was searching for had arrived! AD, no line to speak of, really nice family owned store and I will continue to give them business whenever I am looking for something. But I think there is not much else on my list at the moment, at least from Rolex. First impressions are that I absolutely love the 43mm being accustomed to 42mm offshores and think the wear is similar, if not a bit smaller. Dial is gorgeous, red just pops and I think it will be a fantastic daily! LOVE IT!Thanks to all of those current owners I PM'd with questions, was very helpful! Quick shots below!
My explorer gets worn maybe once every two weeks and that¡¯s generally because I feel bad that I¡¯m not wearing it more. Of the watches that aren¡¯t gifts, sentimental, etc...how infrequently do you have to wear a watch before you decide it¡¯s time to let it go?
