When it comes to quartz-driven watches that maintain accuracy via some sort of outside reference input, you have traditionally been limited to watches that receive atomic timekeeping signals from observatories around the world. New Alligator! Why wasn't this offered from Philip?
I just received some tailor made bands from Banda in Hong Kong. I have fat 8.125" wrists and these custom made bands cost less than many ready made bands and I know they'll fit.I have never been happy with the fit of the bracelet on my Admirale XL 48mm Auto because, without half links, the bracelet could never be adjusted to where the heavy watch wouldn't flop around on my wrist. I have the dark blue dial and Philip never offered it with a band, so I ordered a dark blue alligator strap for it with a dual deployment clasp. I couldn't be happier with the watch now. It fits perfectly and doesn't move around anymore. It may not be clear in the pictures, but the color of the strap matches the dial perfectly. I don't understand why Philip never offered the Admirale XL in this color and strap combination.I also can't recommend Banda more highly. The band is very well made nd the prices and service were great

Safari or Red/Black
Stuck on a fence going to be safari or red/black. What's your choice and why?They both pop and I'm having a hard time deciding.

does anyone happen to know how thicke the older 45.5mm 2500 was?i used to have one and am now contemplating a DSSD and wondering how much higher the latter is going to sit, compared to my former Big One.thanks!
