Marina Militare GMT
Hardly ever see Panerai homage (not counterfeit) watches mentioned here, so I figured I'd post my Marina Militare PAM homage that I just received today. The watch is 44mm, with an automatic Asian clone of the Unitas 6497 movement, modified with a GMT function. Polished SS case, internal cyclops (1.5X max ), decent lume, and a horrible cheap leather strap (replaced by the one pictured here). I just developed an appreciation for PAM's and the myriad homage variations out there, so I had to pick one up. Fantastic watch for the price (<$100 total). Looks great, flawless finish, and is keeping good time. Thinking of the GMT while in Kalimantan
I have been in Indonesia the last few days and I sure wish I had a GMT watch with me. Keep waking up too early each morning getting my time mixed up.Internet connection here at my hotel is unpredictable. Finally some working speed this morning after 3 days of lag. Anyway...anyone know of a GMT with day date to recommend? :D

Rust?
Gentlemen, I would appreciate some advice about the appearance of what looks like rust on my rose gold and steel AT. Neither material is supposed to be susceptible to such problems. Is this a manufacturing defect or am I just being too neurotic about stains on a $4,000 watch?

What is with polishing?
I am fairly new to the luxury watch market. I see that some people write about watches being ��polished��, and that is looked down upon. Does this mean watches are simply Brillo padded to remove scratches or does this mean literally polishing with a bidding wheel to attempt to remove scratches and swirls? I am referencing tool watches like vintage GMT��s and Subs. I don��t really understand what the big deal is about polishing watches and why it is a negative.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
