- another sick nixon watch. fits really well, easy to adjust, don't have to take it in. no dials on the face at all (very slick), just one underneath the band @ the top of the watch, easy to adjust this as well. very cool.

1940 vintage Bulova watch...U.S. Made...17 jewels, runsI have NOT studied it at all, but looks a GREAT buy for $45Bulova was a wonderful watch company based on New York (5th ave)Read all the notes first, I have NOT read anything about it.
I don't have any expertise to speak of in watch collecting, but my grandfather was recently gifted a Patek Philippe watch, a perpetual calendar model, by one of his (presumably wealthy, since the watch is apparently worth at least $20K) friends. I figured that this would be a good place to satiate my curiosity about said watch, especially since I haven't been able to find information pertaining to the particular model anywhere else on the Internet. The issue is that the reference number (I would presume that this is the 5059 written on the back) corresponds to a watch with some of the same essential functions, but with a different aesthetic design . There are no letters or other embellishments after the number 5059. I'd like to know the reason for this discrepancy along with identification of the watch, if only out of curiosity. Since I unfortunately don't have any pictures of the watch itself, I'll try to describe it in detail. I'll get a picture of it some time, but a lengthy descrip
COSC is short for Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres, which translates to Official Swiss Chronometer Control. Founded in 1973, it is the conglomeration of several formerly independent testing agencies. The Director's headquarters is in La Chaux-de-Fonds and the testing offices are located in Bienne, Geneva, and Le Loche. If you own a COSC certified watch you probably have seen the paperwork that came with it but may have questions about it's meaning. For demonstration purposes we'll use the certificate from an ETA 2892 that's powering a Tiffany's Mark stainless steel Coupe model: Let's take a look at what it all means. At the top left is the certificate number [10670108] and to the right is this particular movement's serial number [7403]. Underneath the certificate number is the movement's category [1] meaning it is a spring balance oscillating caliber larger than 20 mm in diameter and greater than 314 square mm in total surface area. The categories are explained on the
Any sightings / lucky owners of this bad boy yet? I am on the sidelines for a few years due to pending home purchase... but this one keeps me up at night dreaming...
A crown for every achievement 🙏Finally achieved boyhood dream of attaining a Day-Date in yellow gold - my dream watch. Got a great deal from UKAD which was not far off DavidSW -prices have flown since last year! Meaning it made more sense to just buy from AD. For some reason my iPhone pics are deemed too big to be posted but I have some great Photos to share if the limits can be lifted. Whole experience took over 2 hours, had a great chat about watches, Rolex supply & SS (most of the rumours stayed here were confirmed and also include PM, not just SS!), price negotiation, great coffee/ snacks, some freebies and made a great friend (have been working on the deal for a couple months). It's a nice reward after some extremely challenging times both financial, work and healthwise (had to sell majority of watch collection - painful!) so great to ride it out, keep fighting, never give up and finally see the rewards. With great love honour and respect to all the brothers and sister
