Impact of replacement cases on valuation
Hi all,Just wanted to get an expert's opinion on this as I can't seem to find a clear quantitative answer online (other than all-original, triple-signed watches being generally more valuable). If I were to buy a Patek with an original movement and dial, but a replaced case, by how much should I haircut the original value, and how much would that impact its potential resale value? The new case is in 18-kt gold, also Swiss-made, if that matters. The condition is great otherwise.Thanks all! Cathy

A Year On The Wrist
Since I got my watch just about a year ago, I thought IĄ¯d do a longish writeup of my experience. Some of my comments will pertain to all Rolexes and not just my platinum Daytona.A quick summary: I got a two-tone Datejust in 1985, wore it daily until last year and always thought it was one of the great purchases of my life. But in the summer of 2016, I started to ponder the idea of getting a second watch. I got intrigued with the new SS Daytonas, fell in love, and put down a deposit on one. I then discovered TRF, lost my patience, and splurged on a platinum version that was about a year old. I know that isnĄ¯t a choice everyone can make, and I also know I seldom desire really extravagant things, so this wasnĄ¯t just a splurge of the month for me.The watch has been fantastic! I admit I donĄ¯t usually second guess my very, very occasional major purchases (thankfully) and this has been no exception. I love the weight of the watch, the look of the dial and bezel, and everything about it
