Panerai PAM00024 wrist watches news:
So when I was picking up my restored Omega from the watchmaker, i told him that I though there was a funny sound coming from my sub. He opened it up, tightened a screw he then 1) Retreated the gasket (I guess Rolex uses some sort of lubrication or sealer on them) and 2) ran it through the pressure tester, which it passed. Since then I have worn it in the shower several times as well as rinsed it off, with no trouble, yet I am still concerned about swimming with it (Something I did do several times before the case was opened).......so am I crazy?
Anyone wanna take a crack at identifying this watch and/or the movement? I'm guessing circa 1920's. Its got me stumped but it runs and looks good. "Pure Nickel" case with #17 stamped on both the caseback and the case itself. I haven't been able to find any other identifying symbols or numbers.Cushion movement 1.jpgCushion watch.jpg
or, in classic Rocky & Bullwinkle alternate title fashion:It's a Stormy day in the Delaware Valley! This one is going in the rotation for sure. The band is not the best but livable until the dealer comes through with a brown croc strap that he promised. Seeing as I've bought 3 watches from him in the last few months he saw fit to offer me my choice. He just didn't have the one I wanted in stock at the time. I've seen a few Hamiltons I liked but this one sat up, licked my face, and whimpered to be adopted by me.....so I obliged!* I just cannot figure out why some photos come out great and other are blurry. They all look good in iPhoto and Photobucket. I'll shoot some better ones when I do a group shot of the 14K & 18K vintage pieces, I promise.
I have been looking at a few Swiss Legend models, the maverick and commander, also the chronograph models. Does anyone here have any experince with them, or any models? How is their quality and what is their customer service like? should something happen?
I am thinking about trading my Breitling Steelfish X-plus for a Seamaster 150th Anniversary 2232.30. I have noticed the bezel is quite shiny on most pics I have seen in reference to this model. This particular one has a machined finish and does not appear to be white gold which I believe it is supposed to come with. Here is a pic of it:Your thoughts?
