- I bought this for my 16 year old daughter who wanted a nice watch. This far exceeds her expectations. The watch is fabulous. We took it to the local jeweler to be sized, and even he was impressed. Definitely a great buy.

The movement has been designed, developed, produced and assembled entirely within the Cartier Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds.Watchmakers have long studied means to compensate for the effects of gravity on the balance spring; the tourbillon is perhaps the best-known mechanical countermeasure. The tourbillon carriage revolves on its own axis, typically in one minute, averaging out the errors and so canceling variations in

I am glad to see some ladies' watches being posted. As I may have mentioned, my wristwatch interests include Waltham's ladies watches, primarily from the dawn of American wristwatches ('teens and 'twenties). I have had this 1921 advertisement in my collection for quite a while. I love the technical details they included to educate (and impress) the consumer.1921_Marsh by JTreiman, on FlickrIn 1923 the movement used in the watch illustrated sold for $170 that is just for the movement. This is a 5-1/4 ligne rectangular movement (mistakenly described as 7-1/2 ligne) and was one of Waltham's finest. Note the gold jewel settings and gear train. [The photo is of a non-running example].5Lrect2889m by JTreiman, on FlickrThen you had to add the cost of the custom case. The watch shown in the ad is almost certainly unique. Imagine my delight when, not too long ago, this very watch appeared on eBay and I was able to win it.5412b by JTreiman, on Flickr
I couldn't resist this one. I've been really getting into vintage Omega lately. The Omega sport watches from the 60s/70s are so cool and the ability to get an Extract from the Archives confirming date of production and where the watch was delivered is a huge plus. This Seamaster 176.007 Chronograph totally blew me away. Blue dial, totalizer sub dial has turned tropic, orange airplane hand minute counter, 24 hr day night indicator. And a quick set date. Plus, it has the legendary 1040 Lemania movement and it Omega's first automatic Chronograph. It's just freakin awesome! Why aren't more people collecting these?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
