Romain Gauthier Logical One Watch: How Sensible Is It?
Independent watch maker Romain Gauthier (R. Gauthier) has just released a new high-end watch which at the same time we both really want and completely don't need. Oh, horologyyou wicked maiden. I highly disagree with the name "Logical One." It implies that this watch errs on the side of prudence and sensibility. Which is most often not the case with beautiful high-end timepieces such as this. There is nothing logical about it. However, to give credence where credence is due, Mr. Gauthier comes from an engineering background and the basis of this watch is to logically improve a particular watch movement feature that I quite love. Inheritance Omega watch - help please?
When my aunt passed away I inherited among other things a watch. The watch is a Ladies Omega Seamaster De Ville manual wind. I have tried for several hours to find the exact same watch on the web/ebay/bloggs, but no luck. Does anybody have any more information on this watch, year, rarity, value? Bunn Special
I have been poking around this and other watch forums for a few months to feed my interest in pocket watches. I guess you could say I am an early stage novice wanna be collector trying to acquire knowledge. I have a few non working watches including a well used E. Howard. For Christmas my wife presented me with a running Bunn Special in reasonable condition. I was thrilled! She purchased it from a local retail that does mostly high end estate jewelry, they have a good reputation. They typically have about 100 or so interesting pocket watches and send the lesser ones off to dealers. I have tried to identify and learn about the exact model but can see none exactly like this. There are 2 things that seem different:1. The flip out case. I do not see this anywhere.2. The lettering on the dial is in a straight line, not curved.Could this be an assembled watch with a dial, case and movement that have been married up?
