Baume & Mercier 8791 wrist watches news:
I have too many watches, but the problem for me is that once I consider slowing down, I find something I cannot pass up.Last month, it was a White Gold Ventura. I was VERY happy with that purchase, but I ended up flipping it (advertised on WTF's Sales Forum) since it was too valuable for me to be putting away in a cabinet.Today, I bought a Coral Brock with a Roman Numeral Dial. It's one of only three 14kt Coral models Hamilton made, and it was only for a short while. I've tried to find a value on this watch, but haven't had any luck. Has anyone tracked prices for this one or have a vague idea as to value?Still buying,Chris
Wondering if anyone here buys there watches new... i will always buy second hand to avoid depreciation wondering what you guys think?
Brought a brand new double seal 5390G in one of the authorise deal here in Hong Kong, cut the seal open myself at the shop, then brought it on the spot. Two days later find out there is some scratch on the gold rotor under the glass, go back to the dealer and say will send right back to swiss to fix it.have to wait at least one and half month.......what kind of quality control is that for a 65k usd watch?
Dear all, I have come to realize that my 2 week old brand new 5164R has 2 defects on the bezel. One at 7 o'clock and one at 11 o'clock. The angle between the brushed plateau and the 45 degreed angle joining the satined polished facade seems to have been over polished by the watchmaker. I can't seem to take proper pictures to show but in bright light, you can see the deformation. I purchased it at a German official Patek retailer not far from Dusseldorf, it was a sealed piece and was opened before my eyes. I didn't realize this until a few days ago, when the light shining at those 2 spots caught my attention and upon examining with a loupe, I confirm the 2 overpolished, or rather looks like dented corners at 7 and 11 positions. The trouble spots are not big but they sure are defects. I cannot believe it passed Patek's quality control department. Now I am left questioning what to do about it.Anyone had similar experiences?Thank youSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When our home was broken into a couple weeks ago I lost a number of watches and was advised to contact manufacturers with serial numbers, etc. Lange and AP replied within 24 hours, and after receiving my information followed up (including a call from Germany by Lange!) to let me know my watches were registered as having been stolen, how their registry worked, who to contact with further questions, etc.I have now sent several emails to Patek over the past two weeks without any reply whatsoever.I will be replacing the Lange and AP watches pretty soon - may hold off on further purchases from Patek.
