- The watch was beautiful but not very practical because the time is nearly imposible to read and what good is a watch if you can't make out the time. It is going back.

Patek Philippe 5396r wrist watches news:
i lost count when my collection went over 20. i've been trying to slim it down. but somehow it only ever goes up. so, how many is too many???
Just picked up this sweet little 1928 Elgin on the Swamp:I thought I had seen it before but didn't know where. Then I remembered it reminded me of an Elgin "William Osler" model I had seen on Bryan's site. So I bid on it and won.Has a two-tone 14k gold-filled Wadsworth case:Bezel is 14K ygf while back is 14K wgf:Has a nifty 17 jewel, 483 grade, 18/0s size, movement that dates to 1928 according the serial number in the Elgin database. It also says this was Elgin's first 18/0s size movement:Also has what looks to be an original dial with nice embossed numerals (check out that stylized "7"!):I e-mailed some photos to Bryan and asked if this was an Elgin in the "William Osler" line. He said he thought it was from the "Clubman" model line. He said he had one and was going to put it up for sale on his web-site soon. When he does, I'm sure it will contain his usual weatlh of knowledge. If anyone has any other info., or photos, let me know.thanksMark S.
Hi - my local AD has 2 pre owned watches a titanium Avenger dated 2010 and a superocean abyss with blue inner dial dated 2011. So both pre owned, prices similar and both in good condition. Which is the best/better watch and how many years before they would need a service ? Do you have any good or bad experiences or any advice to help me.Thanks
